Description

Position Summary University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) is dedicated to soliciting the private funding necessary to support the strategic goals of the University in teaching, learning, and research. The personnel of UDAR work university-wide as well as within individual schools and colleges of the University to discover, motivate, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, faculty, and friends for immediate, long-range, and future financial support, through gifts and pledges to the University, for critical operations such as student aid, faculty support, academic and research program development, and facilities and infrastructure. UDAR's endeavors raise funds for immediate University use and also for the University's endowment. The Associate Director, Donor Services will manage and administer customer service solutions for the Advancement Services team. Oversee global branch site giving and direct electronic asset transfers working within multiple university owned platforms. Coordinate donor-advised fund giving with the utmost discretion while protecting all private donor and internal University data and upholding the policies and values of University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR). Proactively identify and implement opportunities for process automation and stay abreast of industry standards and best practices. Maintain high standards for quality assurance in gift processing through exemplary communications and management skills. Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation, utilizing understanding of systems and workflows. Support the planning, execution, and evaluation of cross-departmental initiatives aimed at optimizing Donor Services operations in collaboration with Donor Services leadership. UDAR encourages work-life integration for our employees, therefore this position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Qualifications Required Education: Bachelor's Degree Preferred Education: Master's Degree Required Experience: 5+ years of gift processing experience and/or combination of education and experience Preferred Experience: 5+ years of gift processing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to listen, speak, and write clearly and effectively High level of emotional intelligence Excellent presentation skills Experience with customer service software Ability to retain knowledge of University policies and procedures Advanced computer skills, including a working knowledge of development and financial systems, Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint and Google Workspace equivalents Comprehensive understanding of CASE guidelines and IRS guidelines for receipting tax-deductible contributions Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities Ability to interpret and evaluate policy and procedural requirements and produce and analyze data Results-driven with the ability to think strategically and make independent decisions that will impact the communications standards and process of gift processing for the University Ability to prioritize requests from multiple sources each having their own timelines and constraints and with all levels of academic and administrative staff Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Must be well versed in quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of data in NYU systems and be able to strictly follow data privacy and security procedures for data handling and analysis to ensure adherence to legal and institutional standards Extensive knowledge of functionality of the University Donor Database Additional Information In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $80,000.00 to USD $100,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
