By joining our team, you will be contributing to an environment that promotes equity, respect, and inclusion for all.</p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Are you the one we’re looking for?</span></p>\n<p>We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Registered Early Childhood Educator</span> who demonstrates our values of compassion, accountability, responsiveness and empowerment; to our clients, families and each other.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>The <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Before and After School Program Staff</span> will be working as part of a team providing a positive learning environment that supports children’s emotional, social, cognitive and physical growth and development. Wesley’s Before and After School Program Staff, care for and observe children each day to understand and foster their interests and provide an engaging and stimulating environment and program. </p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Place of work: </span>Location and/or program can be changed based on enrollment and/or operational need. </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Hours of work: </span>Shift to be confirmed <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">27.5 hrs. per week</span>.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Status: </span>Part time contract</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Duration:</span> The contract is <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">until October 23, 2026</span>.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Rate of Pay: </span>This is a <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">unionized, part-time, temporary</span> position. The rate of pay is <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">$19.46 </span>per hour; the rate of pay varies from $25.21 - $28.21 based on eligible wage top-ups available.</p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities: </span></p>\n<ol>\n<li>Develop, plan, promote, implement and evaluate day to day operations of the programs with the support of the Supervisor Early Years and other staff.</li>\n<li>Plan and implement programming based on the Ministry of Education’s pedagogy “How Does Learning Happen?” as well as the “Tools for Life” Program.</li>\n<li>Create and maintain a safe learning environment that is responsive to the interests and needs of the children in the program.</li>\n<li>Provide quality, play-based learning and supervision of all children in the care of Wesley Urban Ministries at all times.</li>\n<li>Ensure program needs are being met and in compliance with program licensing requirements.</li>\n<li>Welcome, support and interact with all clients, including those from culturally diverse backgrounds, newcomers to Canada, LGBTQ2S+, young parents, etc.</li>\n</ol>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What you will bring:</span></p>\n<ol>\n<li>Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education and registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators <span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">or</span></span> Diploma or degree in Child and Youth Worker</li>\n<li>Minimum 2 years of experience working with school age children, and their families.</li>\n<li>Experience working in a Before and After School program, with parents and with community partners.</li>\n<li>Thorough knowledge of applicable legislation i.e. Child Care and Early Years Act (2014).</li>\n<li>Current First aid/CPR, Safe Food Handling Certificate, Non Violent Crisis Intervention (N.V.C.I.) training.</li>\n</ol>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Invest in Yourself as we Invest in You!
