We begin your benefits on day one and offer flexibility wherever possible, so that you can be present for your passions.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong><u>Essential Functions:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrates competency in advanced practical nursing skills and use of patient care/unit equipment as defined by unit specific requisite skills.   </li>\n <li>Communicates appropriate information regarding the patient’s condition to the RN and other members of the healthcare team. </li>\n <li>Assists RN or provider during examinations and procedures. </li>\n <li>Documents patient data, and patient education according to Orlando Health and department specific guidelines </li>\n <li>Able to perform triage functions, including assessing the patient and determining next step in care, working in collaboration as directed by the department nursing team or provider(s).  </li>\n <li>Appropriately administer oral and injectable medications or immunizations per LPN scope and as directed by a provider.  </li>\n <li>Maintains a safe and caring environment for both patient and family. </li>\n <li>Assumes an active role in keeping informed about changes in hospital policy, procedure, and equipment. </li>\n <li>Participates in nursing PI activities as assigned.   </li>\n <li>Demonstrates awareness of legal issues, patient rights, and compliance with the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies.   </li>\n <li>Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served on the assigned unit. </li>\n <li>Demonstrates the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit’s/area’s/department’s policies and procedures. </li>\n <li>Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. </li>\n <li>Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>For Perioperative Anesthesia: </u></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrates through clinical practice a clear understanding of aseptic technique and has a working knowledge of the specialized equipment and supplies utilized by the Anesthesiologist/CRNA/SRNA.  </li>\n <li>Demonstrates knowledge of standards and recommended practices for the perioperative setting. Shares own knowledge with colleagues. </li>\n <li>Provides anesthesia equipment and supplies based on identified needs in a timely, efficient, and safe manner.  </li>\n <li>Assists anesthesia personnel with the administration of general, spinal, and regional anesthesia. </li>\n <li>Sets up all invasive monitoring lines as requested by anesthesia personnel. Under the direction of the Anesthesiologist/CRNA/SRNA, runs point of care labs and diagnostics, completing all required Point Of Care (P.O.C.) documentation. </li>\n <li>Works closely with anesthesia staff during anesthesia emergencies and trauma cases; assisting with preparation of the O.R. suite, line placement, handling of blood and lab draws and patient positioning for procedure. </li>\n <li>Troubleshoots and cares for all equipment used in the delivery of anesthesia care.   </li>\n <li>Receives, sorts, decontaminates, and cleans reusable anesthesia equipment.  </li>\n <li>Maintains and insures adequate inventory levels of anesthesia supplies in departmental service areas.  </li>\n <li>Assists with positioning the patient according to operating room policy and procedure, and transport post-operatively to the PACU or unit in a safe and caring manner for the patient.  </li>\n <li>Communicates appropriate information regarding the patient condition to the Anesthesiologist/CRNA/SRNA and other members of healthcare team.   </li>\n <li>Contributes to the department’s effectiveness by reporting to duty on time, adhering to policy concerning break and lunch, and completing assigned duties in a efficient, effective, and timely manner.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Other Related Functions: </u></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.</li>\n <li>Practices efficient use of supplies. </li>\n <li>Maintains a clean, safe, and organized unit.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong><u>Education/Training </u></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Nursing School Graduate </li>\n <li>Successful completion of a 30-hour approved IV therapy course within 30 days of hire for inpatient/SNF. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Licensure/Certification </u></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Current nursing license in the State of Florida renewed every two years. </li>\n <li>Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.</li>\n</ul>",
