Our Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) features 16 dedicated beds, supporting high-acuity, complex surgical care.</p>\n<p>As a Staff Nurse, you'll be at the forefront of patient care, working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure patients/residents receive comprehensive support. </p>\n<p><strong>Your responsibilities will include: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assess patients' physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs. </li>\n <li>Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans. </li>\n <li>Incorporate teaching into care plans to educate patients and families. </li>\n <li>Make referrals to resources as needed. </li>\n <li>Support fellow healthcare professionals. </li>\n <li>Operate within the framework of Providence Health Care's mission, vision, and values. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Minimum Nurse-to-Patient Ratio</h2>Minimum Nurse-to-Patient Ratios (mNPR) set the minimum number of nurses required to safely care for patients on a given unit. Developed in partnership with the Ministry of Health, the BC Nurses' Union (BCNU), and health organizations across British Columbia, mNPR provides a consistent and transparent approach to staffing that supports safe nursing practice and high-quality patient care. At Providence Health Care (PHC), our approach to implementing mNPR reflects our commitment to person-centred, socially just, compassionate care and our dedication to Indigenous cultural safety. The level of care and acuity of our patients is unique.</li>\n <li><strong>Comprehensive benefits:</strong> These are unionized roles that include a robust benefits package, a competitive pension plan, and even a 50% discount on transit passes for eligible employees!</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Your Day to Day:</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Conduct thorough patient/resident assessments through chart reviews, observations, interviews, and collaboration with peers. </li>\n <li>Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans based on evidence-based practices, prioritizing patient/resident needs. </li>\n <li>Adhere to established policies, procedures, and PHC standards while providing high-quality nursing care. </li>\n <li>Monitor patient/resident progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust care plans as needed for optimal results. </li>\n <li>Maintain accurate records of assessments, care plans, patient/resident status, and discharge plans using manual and computerized systems. </li>\n <li>Identify and address patient/resident and family learning needs, providing education and referrals as necessary. </li>\n <li>Provide direction to staff, promote teamwork, and share clinical knowledge to enhance patient care. </li>\n <li>Support nursing research initiatives and contribute to the improvement of patient/resident care policies and procedures.</li>\n <li>Advocate for patients/residents' rights and dignity, facilitate discharge plans, and collaborate with families and community resources.</li>\n <li>Perform additional duties as assigned to support the healthcare team.</li>\n</ul>\n<p></p>\n<p><strong>Who We Are:</strong></p>\n<p>Providence Health Care is one of the largest faith-based health care organizations in Canada.
