This is the Senior level for this job family. This is a fully seasoned professional level capable of independently carrying out most assignments typical of the profession. This level would be attainable by multiple incumbents in a work group (not necessarily by all), but would not be an \"automatic\" promotional level.</span></p><p style=\"margin-top: 12pt;\"><span><strong>Supervision Received:</strong></span></p><p style=\"margin-left: 0in; text-indent: 0in;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Works under very general supervision. Depending on organization structure, may work independently with responsibility for an assigned function or program.</span></p><p style=\"margin-top: 12pt;\"><span><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></span></p><p><i><span style=\"font-size: 9pt;\">These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive.</span></i></p><p>&nbsp;</p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc; padding-left: 9.6px;\"><li><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Carries out GIS system design, modification, or updates for complex and extensive GIS environments. Assignments and areas of responsibility may be complex and diverse.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Analyzes existing programs or formulaic logic for new systems, devises logic procedures, prepares flow-charting, performs coding, and tests/debugs programs.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Commonly leads a project team in planning and executing GIS system design and implementation.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Develops conversion and system implementation plans.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Prepares and obtains approval of system and programming documentation.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Recommends changes in development, maintenance, and system standards.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Selects from multiple procedures and methods to accomplish tasks.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Establishes work methods, timetables, performance standards, etc.</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Routinely provides work group leadership, guidance, and/or training to less experienced staff.&nbsp;</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Acts as team lead on large projects.</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Collects and handles data, provides mapping services, performs technical research and analysis, and coordinates activities.</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Analyzes and evaluates processes for utilizing computer-aided design and drafting software, CAD geographic information system extensions, and other related software and hardware to support engineering and facilities management processes, analyses, and reporting capabilities.</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">Reports problems, mistakes, and concerns to the proper department or client.</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">May train users in conversion and implementation of system.</span></li><li><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\">May perform other duties as assigned.</span></li></ul><p style=\"margin: 12pt 0in 0.0001pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 0in;\"><i><span style=\"font-size: 9pt;\">The above statements reflect the general duties, responsibilities and competencies considered necessary to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job and should not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements of the position.
