    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>i3 is searching for a Senior Linux Administrator to support the Missile Defense Agency Information Management and Software Services (AIMSS) effort. The mission is to design and implement a Missile Defense System with multiple layers of protection. The Senior Linux Administrator performs administration of cloud and on-site Linux technologies and provides end-to-end solutions for IT Systems. Creates and configures virtual and physical machines in a multi-platform environment. Monitors system performance and addresses any issues through an effective support process. This position is located at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Build, configure, and maintain standardized Linux Operating Systems (such as RHEL 9) in various technical use cases.</li>\n <li>Build and maintain virtual machine Linux golden images from source code management.</li>\n <li>Integrate Linux operating systems with Active Directory environments utilizing tools such as SSSD.</li>\n <li>Maintain software repository mirrors utilizing Red Hat Satellite servers and custom scripts.</li>\n <li>Integrate multifactor authentication, CAC/smartcard PKI and certificate management in a mixed Windows/Linux environment.</li>\n <li>Work with teammates on an agile project with a focus on providing a secure, versatile, efficient, reproduceable, and highly scalable computing environment.</li>\n <li>Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer software and implementing operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the applications and systems.</li>\n <li>Perform Linux system configuration, patching, and vulnerability remediation utilizing Ansible, Terraform, Chef, GitLab, or other automation tools.</li>\n <li>Coordinate hardware and software upgrades and installations with network and security teams.</li>\n <li>Apply security controls as defined in DISA’s Security Technical implementation Guides (STIGs). Ensure compliance with established MDA cybersecurity compliance standards for Linux and VM computing systems.</li>\n <li>Implement and ensure operations for DOD security controls such as Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG) and Host Based Security Systems (HBSS).</li>\n <li>Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems applicable to the compliance of RMF accreditation packages.</li>\n <li>Monitor, evaluate, and maintain systems and procedures to safeguard information systems, networks and databases.</li>\n <li>Have a customer centric approach and provide all level of support for the technical and cyber team as well as the user base community. </li>\n <li>Provides advice and training to end-users and provides mentorship to junior team members.</li>\n <li>Work with software developers in ensuring their applications operate correctly within a Linux environment.</li>\n <li>Ensure software application data is monitored, managed and stored within an on-prem and hybrid cloud environment.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Education/Experience</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Additional experience may substitute for degree.</li>\n <li>Minimum 12+ years of relevant IT experience required.</li>\n <li>Senior knowledge and experience of Linux operating systems (RHEL).</li>\n <li>Experience with different database systems (PostgreSQL and MySQL).</li>\n <li>Experience with container solutions (Podman).</li>\n <li>Experience with Ansible playbooks.</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of current systems and applications.</li>\n <li>Ability to troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware conflicts.</li>\n <li>Be able to quickly adapt to new situations, have a strong commitment to a team environment, maintain a capacity to work with little supervision, and the willingness to learn new technologies.</li>\n <li>Must hold an approved DoD 8140 certification - CompTIA Security+ CE.</li>\n <li>Must have an RHCSA certification, RHCE preferred.</li>\n <li>Active Secret clearance required. Must be able to maintain the security clearance required for this position.</li>\n <li>Must reside within a 75-mile radius of Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville AL or be willing to relocate prior to start date.</li>\n <li>Ability to reliably commute to the office as business needs dictate.</li>\n <li>U.S. Citizenship</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Knowledge/Skills</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Knowledge of office administration and procedures.</li>\n <li>Exceptional judgment capabilities and relationship management skills.</li>\n <li>Excellent communication, teamwork, and client service skills; ability to clearly communicate in discussions and written documents, and to deliver feedback clearly and tactfully.</li>\n <li>Interact with a diverse array of customers and staff in a professional and courteous manner.</li>\n <li>Work independently with accountability for accurate and complete results.</li>\n <li>Be extremely organized and exceptionally detail oriented.</li>\n <li>Experience working with IaC.</li>\n <li>Know how to create, manage logical volumes, volume groups</li>\n <li>Kubernetes orchestration management experience</li>\n <li>Ansible automation experience</li>\n <li>Knowledge of configuration management tools like GitLab, Bitbucket, github</li>\n <li>Strong DevSecOps background</li>\n <li>Agile framework experience</li>\n <li>Knowledgeable or capability to deploy CI/DI pipeline on-premises or in a cloud environment.</li>\n <li>Must be able to communicate with others effectively.</li>\n <li>Manage time wisely and prioritize tasks.</li>\n <li>Provide superior customer service.</li>\n <li>Work well under pressure.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Physical Demands</p>\n<ul>\n <li>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.</li>\n <li>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
