Description

Who We Are: At Rover, pets and their people are at the heart of everything we do. We connect pet parents with trusted pet care across the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Australia. Headquartered in Seattle and Barcelona, we’re a values driven, fast-growing tech company focused on building safe and personalized experiences tailored to the needs of each unique pet. We’re investing in AI as a business accelerator and provide every team member access to AI tools in service of creating better experiences for our community. We are proud to be recognized as a great place to work, having been named among the 100 Best Companies to Work For in Seattle Business Magazine and Washington’s Best Workplaces in the Puget Sound Business Journal. At Rover we’re committed to creating an accessible, inclusive, and welcoming community, which starts with our employees. Want to make an impact? Join our pack and come work (and play!) with us. Who We're Looking For: Rover is looking for a strategic, commercially-minded, and operationally talented Director of FP&A to support our global growth and marketing businesses. This role is a key member of the Finance team, reporting to the Sr Director of Finance.  This isn't just a "numbers" role; you will be the strategic co-pilot to the Chief Global Growth Officer and partnering with senior leadership to drive financial rigor, resource allocation, and long-term value creation. The Director of FP&A will bring both the strategic altitude to shape enterprise financial value creation and the operational discipline to ensure Rover's financial foundation is strong, scalable, and insight-driven. This is a hybrid position with the minimum expectation to work out of our Downtown Seattle Office two days per week on Mondays and Thursdays. Candidates must be based in the Greater Seattle Area or willing to relocate. Rover is an equal opportunity employer committed to promoting a diverse, inclusive and inventive environment with the best employees. We’re driven by seeing our people succeed and grow, and we work to ensure everyone contributes to their fullest potential. We consider all qualified applicants without regard to age, race, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, disability, protected veteran status, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or any other protected status in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and ordinances. We are committed to work with you to look for reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. Please contact us to request accommodation. What you’ll do: Financial Planning and Analysis: Drive Rover annual planning, forecasting, and long-range financial modeling processes for customer bookings, revenue, and marketing expenses. Translate business strategy into financial plans and provide leadership with the analytical foundation to make high-quality resource and investment decisions. Business Partnership: Serve as a trusted financial partner to senior business leaders across the marketing organizations. Provide proactive financial insights that sharpen decision-making and improve business outcomes. Reporting and Performance Management: Prepare high impact materials for both internal and external financial reporting, including Board and investor materials. Ensure leadership has timely, accurate, and actionable visibility into business performance. Capital Allocation and Investment Analysis: Assist in financial evaluation of strategic investments, new market opportunities, and major business initiatives. Bring a clear point of view on where Rover should and should not deploy capital. Long Range Planning: Coordinate with Strategy and the rest of the leadership team to review and update on an annual basis. Team Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing FP&A team of 3. Set clear expectations, build capability, and create an environment where the team can do their best work. Cross-Functional Partnership: Work closely with teams to ensure financial strategy is integrated across the business and that operational decisions are made with full financial context. Your Qualifications: 8-12+ years of progressive finance experience, with a demonstrated track record in FP&A, business finance, or corporate finance at a growth-stage or public technology company. At least 3+ years of people management experience, with a track record of developing strong finance talent. Deep expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis. Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where the numbers are still being defined. Exceptional strategic communication skills. Able to translate complex financial data into clear, compelling narratives for Board, C-Suite, and cross-functional audiences. Strong business acumen with the ability to connect financial outcomes to operational drivers. You think like an operator, not just an analyst. Experience operating in a two-sided marketplace, platform business, or similarly complex revenue model is a strong plus. High degree of integrity and sound judgment, particularly in situations involving sensitive financial information or significant business trade-offs. Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Nice to Have: Experience in Private Equity environments Experience with go public or exit process Familiarity with international finance, multi-currency reporting, or global business operations. CPA, CFA, or MBA from a leading program. Benefits of Working at Rover.com Competitive compensation 401k match Flexible PTO Competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance Commuter benefits Bring your dog to work (and unlimited puppy time) Doggy benefits, including $1000 toward adopting your first dog Stocked fridges, coffee, soda, and lots of treats (for humans and dogs) and free catered lunches semi-monthly Regular team activities performed in-person and virtually Compensation: In the greater Seattle area the first-year salary range is $158,513-$210,822 with a 15% bonus.
