Description
SUMMARY:
Primary Role: Applies electrical theory, Ohm’s Law, Electrical code, base programming, and the related knowledge to repair, calibrate and modify electrical components, circuitry, and controls.
Secondary Role: Responsible for the set-up, adjustment, maintenance and rep
air of machinery and mechanical equipment used in the production facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Adjusts functional parts of machine devices and control instruments, which includes changeover to new sizes and running adjustments to maintain maximum product and quality in supporting all manufacturing needs. Disassembles and inspects parts, rebuilds and overhauls complete machines and machine components. Ability to read blueprints and realize intent. Observe machines and equipment to diagnose malfunctions. PLC installation, basic programming, trouble shooting of process systems. Provide technical and electrical expertise for plant operations. Assist the Engineering department when reviewing outdated electrical components. Troubleshoot and repair electrical or electronic wiring and equipment. Evaluate and maintain electrical or electronic wiring and equipment. Assembles and test operates machine to verify correction of malfunction . Perform preventive maintenance tasks that are provided through eMaint/CMMS Performs preventive maintenance checks. Record all data as assigned. Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems. Removes and replaces worn or defective parts. Must follow all GMPs, SOPs and maintain a current understanding of the regulation and requirements of the industry applicable government agencies. Train new hires. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS :
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 5 years mechanical and electrical experience. Basic skills test required. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, programmable controllers, basic electric skills, as well as the desire to continue to improve ability and knowledge of existing and new equipment. Experience with PLC troubleshooting, HVAC skills, fabricating, TIG and MIG welding preferred Knowledge and experience with PLC programming, installation, and troubleshooting. Experience in a food industry preferred. Must have the ability to use hand tools and trade-type tools, good motor coordination necessary. Proven record of ability to handle equipment safely and sensibly. Detail oriented, with the ability to make sensitive adjustments in equipment. Must be team-oriented with the ability to work with others and without direct supervision. Good communication skills. Ability to adjust schedule to provide specialized electrical support through all shifts.

Ability to perform the following: standing, climbing, pulling, and/or pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and stooping. Able to lift 50 lbs. frequently. Must wear required personal protection equipment associated with the manufacturing environment. Able to work in confined spaces Able to climb up and down ladders Must be able to work at various heights
