Calibration Technicians at this level typically can calibrate, troubleshoot, and adjust higher-level equipment across a minimum of eight (8) disciplines, with expert knowledge in three (3) disciplines (e.g., Electrical, Dimensional, or Pressure). Proficiency and expertise are determined in accordance with Transcat’s technician skills progression matrix. A Senior Calibration Technician will be capable of completing work independently within the lab or onsite at a customer location, with limited or no guidance. CCT or CMT certification is desired for this role.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform calibration work with little to no supervision</li>\n <li>Proficient with Electrical calibrations.</li>\n <li>RF calibration experience is preferred. </li>\n <li>Conduct independent research when necessary</li>\n <li>Coordinate and manage daily workloads without direction from the service manager</li>\n <li>Identify and utilize appropriate measurement techniques</li>\n <li>Maintain calibration standards</li>\n <li>Understand and apply uncertainties to measurements made</li>\n <li>Read and interpret labs’ scopes of accreditation</li>\n <li>Work effectively with lab support staff</li>\n <li>Working knowledge and competency in eight (8) disciplines and expert in three (3) disciplines preferred</li>\n <li>Perform calibrations within a laboratory or customer onsite setting </li>\n <li>Work at customer on-sites with little to no direction</li>\n <li>Fulfill duties safely under working conditions, in keeping with Company requirements and standards</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned</li>\n <li>Travel requirement: up to 50% of work schedule </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Primary Objectives</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Call upon high-level skills, techniques, and processes to calibrate, troubleshoot, and adjust a high volume of high-level equipment with few errors </li>\n <li>Coordinate work schedule for the lab</li>\n <li>Prepare detailed analysis of calibration processes and uncertainties</li>\n <li>Develop and implement process improvements</li>\n <li>Develop team lead skills and responsibilities </li>\n <li>Train and advise lower-level technicians </li>\n <li>Deliver on Transcat’s Quality Policy (QAC-F01-001)</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities</strong><strong>, and Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Successful completion of assigned training materials through on-the-job training, online content, LMS, and classroom led instruction</li>\n <li>Elite interpersonal and customer service skills </li>\n <li>Excellent attention to detail</li>\n <li>Self-motivated learner with the ability to learn new skills related to calibration and calibration processes</li>\n <li>Ability to take direction and learn from feedback</li>\n <li>Ability to communicate well with supervisor, solve problems effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team</li>\n <li>3+ years driving experience with a valid driver’s license and acceptable driver history</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Education and Experience</strong></p>\n<p>Required: Associates degree from college or technical school; or six+ (6+) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Preferred: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Six+ (6+) years of commercial calibration experience </li>\n <li>CCT or CMT certification</li>\n <li>Extensive statistical background</li>\n <li>Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office computer software including, Word, Excel, and Outlook</li>\n <li>Advanced organizational and time management skills</li>\n <li>Experience in PMEL, PME, TMDE, Metrology, Calibration, ASQ CCT, METCAL, GPETE, Electronics, GCAMS, or Avionics </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands</strong></p>\n<p>These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
