The Role
We are recruiting for an experienced Divisional Quality Control Lead to join our team and head up the quality efforts on the Midstream division. Reporting to the VP, Midstream and Mining, and dotted line to the group Quality Control Manager, this role plays a vital part in ensuring that the Quality standards are properly established and maintained within the division. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial, mechanical, and civil construction, including pressure piping scopes to ensure all work complies with project specifications, codes and industry standards. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols and the ability to work effectively in operational sites and client facilities, our fabrication shop, and our corporate office.
This position does require occasional travel to various projects and client sites.
Compensation/Benefits Competitive salary. Negotiable, based on experience. Eligible for bonus (depending on overall company performance). Potential for employee ownership in the future. Job Duties and Responsibilities Process standardization through procedures and plans – ITP / PSQPs, etc. Integration of our QMS with our client requirements Technical advisor – SME for clients and internal teams on specification and repair methodologies – specifically weld/coating/hydro procedures Compliance – Ensure field teams are operating within our quality expectations Optimization – refine and improve our processes with a focus on continuous improvement Field inspections and quality assurance checks – some travel required. Mentor & coordinate site QC, ensure they are following OCL Standards Review RFP & Quality requirements during bids. Prepare Quality plans based on the same. Ensure that Subcontractors are properly integrated with our quality management program. Read civil and piping drawings, GA's and PID's.
Education/Skills/Qualifications P.Eng, C.E.T or similar would be an asset. CWB Level 2/3, NACE Level 2/3, or similar certifications are highly desirable 10+ years of Industrial QC Experience required Industrial experience should include Pressure Piping (above and below ground), Vessels, Tanks, Exchangers, Fabrication, Repair/alteration, Structural, and Coatings. Strong computer skills, especially in the use of Microsoft and Google Suite of products. We are a Google-based company. Self-motivated, organized and able to work in a high-pressure deadline driven environment. Knowledge of ASME, ABSA, and CSA codes and client standards structure. Must have the following safety tickets: WHMIS 2015, H2S Alive, CSTS-2020 Must be able to pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test, and pre-access testing to client sites as required
