    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>Job Description</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Performs electroencephalographic (EEG) &nbsp;recordings according to established standards and practices as ordered by Physician. Maintains test recordings and equipment.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Job Responsibility</p>\n<ol>\n <li>Interviews patient to assess current physical condition</li>\n <li>Abstracts relevant information for patient's medical record, obtaining additional information from patient and/or referring Physician, as required.</li>\n <li>Translates procedures into layman's terms based on professional knowledge in order to relieve patient of any pre-testing anxiety.</li>\n <li>Sets up equipment to administer particular procedure in a timely fashion.</li>\n <li>Positions patient on examination table and applies electrodes on predetermined measured positions on patient’s head for optimum testing.</li>\n <li>Checks equipment performance and selects predetermined electrode combinations and special combinations as required by case.</li>\n <li>Operates EEG equipment to take EEG tracings.</li>\n <li>Obtains standard recordings, recognizing artifacts and taking appropriate steps to eliminate them.</li>\n <li>Modifies recording protocol when abnormalities occur in EEG, adding electrodes in standard locations and devising appropriate recording techniques with minimal assistance.</li>\n <li>Uses activating procedures such as hyperventilation, photic stimulation and sleep. Monitors other variables such as electromyograms, electrocardiograms, electrooculograms, respiration, etc.</li>\n <li>Recognizes and responds to patient’s medical issues and physiological events (i.e. cardiac, respiratory, seizures, etc.) to ensure safety and welfare of patient.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Obtains recordings, including any/all abnormal clinical manifestations, for physician interpretation.</li>\n <li>May assist Physician in surgical cases by setting up continuous EEG monitoring, video monitoring and in obtaining recordings during ECOG and Wada mapping.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Transports EEG equipment to patient’s rooms and various departments, as required.</li>\n <li>Performs routine maintenance on EEG equipment. Identifies malfunctions and reports to management.</li>\n <li>Performs related duties as required.\"&nbsp;</li>\n</ol>\n<p>Job Qualification</p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma or equivalent, required.</li>\n <li>Current EEG Technician certification, required.</li>\n <li>Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification, required.<br>\n   Prior relevant experience, required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><strong>*Additional Salary Detail</strong>&nbsp;<br>\n  The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
