    "description": "<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><br></span><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">OUTPATIENT SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER COUNSELOR</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Basic Functions</span></span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist clients in discovering a way of life that can be lived without the use of chemicals, support clients through the recovery process, and assist clients in the exploration of their lifestyle- emphasizing patterns of behavior.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Responsibilities</span></span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Keep a schedule of regular counseling appointments with clients and be available for non-scheduled counseling or crisis counseling when needed.</li>\n<li>Develop treatment plans, based on the initial ASAM assessment conducted at intake, including goals and objectives.</li>\n<li>Write progress notes and other relevant clinical documentation, as clinically necessary and at least once weekly, detailing clients’ progress, or lack thereof, towards completing his or her treatment plan goals.</li>\n<li>Facilitate groups sessions and educational classes as assigned by Program Manager and document accordingly in each client’s file within 48 hours.</li>\n<li>When necessary, update ASAM assessments for clients.</li>\n<li>Attend weekly Case Conferences to discuss clients’ progress in relation to their treatment plans. Identify problems or achievements through staff discussion.</li>\n<li>Conduct and document case management between clients and other service agencies involved in clients’ treatment, including but not limited to: Probation, Parole, DCFS, DMH, DPSS, DOR, along with referring case managers and insurance providers.</li>\n<li>Attend, and actively participate in, monthly in-service training sessions.</li>\n<li>Provide each client with an individualized Continuing Care Plan.</li>\n<li>Complete all necessary documentation within contractually established timeframes: this includes P.O. reports, progress notes, discharge summaries, aftercare plans, etc.</li>\n<li>Provide family support and education through conjoint sessions as well as family groups.</li>\n<li>Communicate and coordinate effectively with the treatment team regrading client treatment issues.</li>\n<li>Maintain a minimum of 65% DMC billing productivity per month.</li>\n<li>Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Skills / Knowledge</span></span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be able to accurately document clients’ individual sessions and group participation.</li>\n<li>Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.</li>\n<li>Must have knowledge and ability to use counseling techniques to educate, elicit feelings, facilitate self-understanding and motivate the client.</li>\n<li>Must be skilled in using Evidence Based Practices, including CBT and MI.</li>\n<li>Must have the ability to act as Case Manager, coordinating a continuum of treatment and / or services for clients.</li>\n<li>Due to the program philosophy, all clinical staff must have a good understanding of the Narcotics Anonymous and / or Alcoholic Anonymous programs (the Twelve Steps).</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Education / Training</span></span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Position requires individual be registered and/or certified with one of the state-approved addiction counselor certification entities (e.g. CADTP, CAADE, or CCAPP) or Master’s level BBS registered individuals. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Working Conditions</span></span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Frequently remain in stationary positions, standing and / or sitting for prolonged periods.</li>\n<li>Occasionally crouching below the waist and / or reaching above the shoulders.</li>\n<li>Occasionally lifting and / or moving objects up to 20 lbs.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Special Conditions</span></span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be willing to undergo random drug screenings.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Position Reports To</span></span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Outpatient Program Manager</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Position Type</span></span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>Temporary, Part-Time, Non-Exempt, Hourly, In-Person</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Pay Range</span></span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>$24 - $31 / Hour</li>\n</ul>",
