Description
This key leadership role within the Western Timberlands Marketing organization reports to the Director of Marketing and is responsible for leading and managing the Washington Marketing Team. The team is accountable for all log sales and log purchasing activities across Washington.
In this role, you will lead a team responsible for log sales, log procurement, and customer relationships across a diverse portfolio. You will partner closely with operations, mills, and cross-functional leaders to align supply, demand, and pricing strategies while meeting internal and external customer needs. Success in this role requires strong leadership, clear and concise communication, and the ability to collaborate and influence across the organization.
Key Functions:
The scope of this role includes overseeing all the log sales for the roughly 1.3 million acres of timberlands that we operate across our Lower Columbia and North Washington regions AND oversees the procurement of approximately 150-200 loads/day of logs to supply our Longview & Olympia export yards and our Longview and Raymond sawmills. Champion safety within the Marketing team Lead, coach, and develop a team of marketing professionals Establish clear goals and expectations to drive best-in-class performance Develop and drive sales strategies that maximizes the value back to the acre Oversee procurement at Olympia, WA and Longview, WA export yards. Lead procurement for internal sawmills in Raymond, WA and Longview, WA. Oversee monthly Wood flow process Cross-Functional collaborations with operations, mills, and other business functions Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, customers, and suppliers Communicate clearly and concisely across the organization Ensure effective planning and execution of log allocation and deliveries Promote an innovative culture to drive operational excellence We believe trees are a remarkable resource that can and should be managed responsibly to make a range of products that meet human needs, while also providing recreation, wildlife habitat, and other important ecosystem benefits.

Bachelor’s degree in forestry, natural resources, business or equivalent experience 10+ years of timberlands operations, procurement, or sales experience. Prior experience in the forestry/wood products industry Proven leadership experience Strong communication and business acumen Experience working across multiple functions Strong analytical skills related to forest operations and wood products manufacturing Strategic mindset with the ability to lead a team on tactical execution Proficient with MS office products and other data systems Position requires the ability to safely operate a vehicle and a valid driver’s license. Position requires the ability to visit both upcoming and active logging jobs. Preferred:
Deep understanding of log markets and value optimization Strong financial acumen with ability to evaluate value levers Experience with vertical integration as related to wood products We sustainably manage forests and manufacture products that make the world a better place. Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of %24144,000 - %24217,000 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 25% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target. This position is eligible to be nominated for an annual long term incentive grant as well. The grant guideline for this position is %2432k, with a range of zero to 150% of the guideline amount. The value of long term incentive grants is typically delivered in restricted stock units.
