Description You will lead the development of selected body systems capabilities at the systems engineering level, from early conceptual development through production. This includes driving the lead development of system functional capabilities for reusability, robustness, and expandability, as well as managing complex system upgrade and migration plans. Responsibilities What you'll do... Execute a comprehensive Systems Engineering approach to new capabilities/API design, ensuring alignment with evolving customer needs and strategic objectives. Lead the development of system functional capabilities, including feature/functional/implementation specifications, detailed Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) documentation, robust function verification test plans, functional safety assessments, and cybersecurity assessment & mitigation strategies to achieve use case attribute targets. Design feature systems utilizing Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), SysML (MagicDraw), and advanced software development techniques (Python, C, JSON, YAML, ARXML) with requirements defined in EARS, INCOSE, or Gherkins formats. Develop high-level network, wiring, and power distribution topologies, schematics, and system boundary diagrams. Strategically suggest and help allocate system functions across electronic modules and subsystems to meet aggressive cost, quality, and performance targets. Review existing system designs to identify new opportunities for optimization, cost reduction, or quality improvement. Collaborate extensively with program teams, core engineers, and cross-functional areas to create balanced solutions that address competing requirements. Cultivate strong relationships with cross-functional teams and the supply base to stay abreast of the latest technologies and identify viable integration possibilities. Analyze complex cross-functional vehicle systems and implement innovative, scalable solutions. Lead critical trade-off discussions with diverse cross-functional teams, driving consensus and optimal outcomes. Communicate complex technical systems, issues, and resolutions in a clear, concise, and impactful manner to various stakeholders. Utilize connected data and advanced analytics to develop a deep understanding of customer behavior and needs. Lead the development and testing of end-to-end system behaviors against requirements on SIL (Software-in-the-Loop), HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop), and Breadboards. Qualifications You'll have... A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of related experience with vehicle electrical systems and/or features. Strong learning agility, advanced systems thinking, and exceptional analytical skills. Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams. Expert-level functional knowledge of electrical module design, networking, wiring, power distribution, chassis systems, and body systems (including lighting, climate, seats, etc.). Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to quickly understand, articulate, and resolve complex issues. Demonstrated emotional resilience to effectively negotiate cross-functional trade-offs. Strong skills using industry-standard tools such as Jira, Jama, FEDE, VSEM, Dev tools (e.g., Github, Visual Studio), Matlab/Simulink, and DSPACE. Proficiency in programming languages and formats including C, Python, JSON, YAML, ARXML, and Gherkin. Even better, you may have...
