These nurses can also serve as their patients&rsquo; sole health care provider and run their own private practices.</p>\r\n\r\n<p>Principal Duties and Responsibilities- Core Competency is the demonstrated ability to carry out the primary responsibilities of the job which is reflected in the Principal Duties section of the job description.</p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Understanding, supporting, and promoting the organization values inherent in the philosophy of Mena Regional Health System.</li>\r\n\t<li>Help patients manage acute and chronic illnesses.</li>\r\n\t<li>Conduct physical exams and perform diagnostic tests and procedures. -</li>\r\n\t<li>Nurse practitioners in the family practice specialty diagnose and treat patients from childhood to adulthood</li>\r\n\t<li>Engaging patients in their care, helping them to understand their illness and practical measures they can take for improvements, -</li>\r\n\t<li>Diagnosing and treating health problems</li>\r\n\t<li>Managing minor trauma including suturing and splinting</li>\r\n\t<li>Performing prenatal, well-child, and adult care checkups</li>\r\n\t<li>Prescribing medications</li>\r\n\t<li>Teaching health promotion and disease prevention to patients.</li>\r\n\t<li>Family nurse practitioners approach patients with an understanding of the value of collaborative, family-centered care and consultative relationships with other healthcare providers, such as physicians, pharmacists, and psychologists. Effective collaboration has proven to promote better communication, healthcare management, and positive health outcomes.</li>\r\n\t<li>Performing job duties in a manner which demonstrates the values of Mena Regional Health System and its commitment to customer service.</li>\r\n\t<li>Complying with Human Resources policies and procedures.</li>\r\n\t<li>Participates in various meetings with such groups to provide pertinent information related to the department operations.</li>\r\n\t<li>Set and monitor achievement of goals and objectives for the Clinic operations consistent with MRHS policy and procedure.</li>\r\n\t<li>Maintains strict confidentiality and privacy with regard to administrative/confidential activities, patient information, staff issues, and organizational issues.</li>\r\n\t<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>\r\n\t<li>Always ensures that Medicare and Medicaid procedures and regulations are not compromised.</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n",
