    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><p data-pasted=\"true\">The Counselors for our Kid&#39;s Place are responsible for supervising the children in our Afterschool program Monday through Friday 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Also need to be available to work all-day programs on School Holidays.</p><p>Responsible for escorting children to classes, following weekly schedules, assisting in room projects, and meeting/greeting parents.</p><p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong> include the following. Other duties may be assigned.</p><p><strong>Working with Children</strong></p><p>o Must use appropriate tone &amp; language when speaking to children</p><p>o Must be able to manage children in group setting</p><p>o Must be sensitive to individual needs &amp; establish relationships with children</p><p><strong>Gym, Swim, Enrichment Classes</strong></p><p>o Counselors need to be aware of the classes in which children are enrolled.</p><p>o Children need to be marked &quot;P&quot; for present or &quot;A&quot; for absent on class rosters.</p><p>o Counselors must monitor &amp; assist children as they change for swim classes.</p><p>o Counselors MUST supervise children at all times - both inside and outside. A child should never be in the building without proper supervision.</p><p><strong>Parent Interaction</strong></p><p>o Counselors will greet each parent as they enter the Kids Place rooms.</p><p>o Counselors should speak with parents about positive aspects of each child&#39;s day.</p><p>o If the child has a minor injury (ie: scraped knee), Counselors can share with parents.</p><p>o Areas of great concern (&quot;bad news&quot; or &quot;chronic misbehavior&quot;) should not be discussed between Counselors and parents.</p><p>o Counselors should speak with Head Teacher and Supervisor regarding these issues and a meeting will be set up with parents to address the matter.</p><p><strong>Set Up &amp; Clean Up</strong></p><p>o Kids Place Rooms need to be set up &frac12; hour before children arrive.</p><p>o Snack, crafts, projects for the day need to be prepared and set out.</p><p>o Room needs to be cleaned up before program ends with mandated bleach ratio.</p><p>o Counselors need to encourage &quot;clean up time&quot; with children.</p><p>o Lights turned out &amp; door shut</p><p>o Proper swipe out.</p><p>&nbsp;</p></div></div></div>\n",
