Due to our continued growth, we are looking for a Graduate Engineer with strong technical knowledge and a keen interest in integrated water resources management in the Eastern Canada region (possible office locations: Montreal area, Quebec; Fredericton, New Brunswick; or Halifax, Nova Scotia). This role will offer you the opportunity to join our innovative, welcoming, and dynamic Water Services group. You will work on a variety of infrastructure projects for public and private sector clients in the field of surface water resources. This includes hydrologic and hydraulic assessments, water quality assessments, site stormwater management, green infrastructure, environmental monitoring, asset management and assessments, as well as construction administration and inspection. Our new graduates can take part in integrated water management disciplines, the Graduate Development Program, and other networking and mentoring opportunities. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: • Participate in hydrologic and hydraulic stormwater analyses, including watershed, storm sewer network, and flow management structure modelling using PCSWMM and other relevant tools; • Contribute to the design of storm sewer networks, retention/detention facilities, outlets, and sustainable stormwater management infrastructure, in accordance with municipal and regulatory standards; • Support flood studies and risk management, including validation of hydraulic assumptions, scenario analysis, and interpretation of modelling results; • Produce and review detailed design documents, including: • plans and profiles; • technical specifications; • bills of quantities; • calculation notes and tender documents; • Assist in preparing technical reports, including hydrologic/hydraulic studies, design reports, technical memoranda, and technical opinions; • Compile, analyze, and interpret topographic, hydrologic, and field data in collaboration with senior team members; • Participate in interdisciplinary technical coordination with civil, networks, and environmental teams during design phases; • Provide occasional support during construction monitoring phases, including site visits, monitoring compliance with plans and specifications, and supporting contract administration; • Contribute, as needed, to the preparation of technical proposals, particularly for stormwater management and modelling components. What you will bring to the team: Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science or higher — Engineering, Civil Engineering, Water Resources, or a similar field; Engineer-in-Training designation in Canada; 0 to 2 years of relevant experience, ideally in surface water management, flood risk assessment, stormwater management infrastructure design or construction, or stream restoration; Strong technical report writing, data analysis, and communication skills; Strong technical knowledge of hydraulic modelling software such as EPPA-SWMM, PCSWMM, HEC-HMS, and HEC-RAS; Strong technical knowledge of hydraulic modelling software such as PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, and EPANET/WaterCAD; Strong computer skills and experience using the Microsoft Office suite; Demonstrated experience or technical knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS software such as ArcGIS and QGIS; Experience with and interest in infrastructure projects focused on water and wastewater systems; Willingness to travel for work and ability to perform field work; Fluency in French; Valid driver’s licence.
