About the Team: At the South China Morning Post, we are redefining how the world consumes news. We aren't just building interfaces; we are crafting intelligent, personalized, and multi-modal experiences for a global audience. Purpose of the Position: As a Product Designer, you will bridge the gap between complex editorial storytelling and cutting-edge technology, ensuring our digital ecosystem is intuitive, accessible, and high-performing. In this role, you will: Scalable Growth & Lifecycle Frameworks: Define the visual standards for our user engagement initiatives. You will design high-fidelity digital experiences and landing journeys that translate our brand DNA into measurable user growth, utilizing data-driven insights to optimize for engagement and conversion. Internal Systems Architecture: Take ownership of the UI/UX for our internal platforms. You will transform complex newsroom and operational requirements into streamlined, elegant interfaces that empower our global teams to work faster and smarter. Product Feature Evolution: Partner with the senior design team to execute UI enhancements and build out localized features. You will contribute to our design system , ensuring consistency and quality across the entire product roadmap based on user research . Design Diplomacy: Act as a bridge between departments. You will learn to navigate diverse stakeholder needs, translating business goals into functional, aesthetic solutions that uphold our global mission. Skills and Experience that will lead to success: The Experience: 2–3 years in a digital design or product role. We are also highly interested in fresh graduates who can showcase an outstanding portfolio with exceptional layout, typography, and systematic thinking. Product Thinking: You seek to understand the "why" behind every pixel. You consider user flows, business objectives, and the broader ecosystem in every decision, ensuring even the simplest touchpoint feels premium. AI-Forward Mindset: You view Generative AI (e.g., Gemini, Adobe Firefly, Figma Make) as a creative superpower. You are eager to integrate these tools into your workflow for rapid prototyping, asset generation, and pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling. Evidence-Based Logic: You enjoy using user feedback and behavioral data to validate your designs. You don't just design for beauty; you design for impact and clarity. Craft & Precision: You have a relentless eye for detail. Whether it’s an internal dashboard or a global landing page, your work is defined by "pixel-perfection" and strict brand alignment. The Toolset: You are proficient in Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).
