    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Electric Boat utilizes thousands of suppliers to help build the most complex submarines in the world. Electric Boat suppliers are located throughout the United States and supply varied products that meet our rigorous standards. The In-depth Supplier Assessment (ISA) Team performs risk-based assessments to ensure our critical suppliers meet our standards to keep our sailors safe at unforgiving depths and pressure.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Electric Boat is seeking team-orientated and self-motivated candidates to join our Supplier Quality Audit program. The candidate will be traveling once or twice per month during the business week to vendors throughout the US. This is a team-oriented position that incorporates subject matter experts in all areas of the business, from supplier quality and purchasing personnel to systems engineers and government auditors. As a member of the team, this position will utilize numerous business systems to prepare for an assessment and lead a small group in areas of risk and past weaknesses. Advancement opportunities for candidates motivated to lead larger teams exist. The need for this risk-based assessment approach has been recognized by senior leadership as essential to the development and sustainment of supply chain performance.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Planning and execution of risk based in-depth assessments and process audits</li>\n <li>Perform extensive deep dives into supplier data utilizing numerous business systems</li>\n <li>Coordinating cross functional teams with SMEs from Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and special processes (welding, NDT, materials, etc.) to aggressively investigate identified areas of risk and past weaknesses</li>\n <li>Determining schedule for the performance of assessments while at the supplier</li>\n <li>Preparing evaluations and audit attribute lists</li>\n <li>Assessing adequacy of preventive and corrective actions</li>\n <li>Documenting problems and ensuring they are understood by the supplier and Electric Boat</li>\n <li>Providing guidance to team members during the conduct of in-depth assessments</li>\n <li>Participating in assessment out-briefs to supplier management, EB supply chain management and key stakeholders</li>\n <li>Utilize Oracle systems for record retention and tracking</li>\n <li>Owning and managing supplier quality audit program procedures processes</li>\n <li>Working with management to identify opportunities to improve core supplier quality Audit functions (e.g. developing/revising procedures, metrics, facilitating learning sessions)</li>\n <li>Assessing Audit Trends in the Supply base and working with communication team to share with internal and external stakeholders</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Travel – 30% is required. There are opportunities for increased travel up to 50%.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Hybrid in-office and work-from-home may be available when not on travel after an initial training period and dependent upon performance.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Minimum Requirements:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>A Bachelor of Science in Engineering; preference given to degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Chemical Engineering or equivalent.</li>\n <li>0-5 years of post graduate engineering experience</li>\n <li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including but not limited to: Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, PPT, etc.)</li>\n <li>Must be able to read and interpret company policies and procedures</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to perform in a role that required a high level of trust and integrity</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to continuously improve self and core business processes</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Requirements:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience in Shipyard Quality, Waterfront, or Design Engineering</li>\n <li>Advanced degree in Engineering</li>\n <li>Formal training in quality auditing and/or quality management is highly desirable</li>\n <li>Experience on cross-functional teams, especially those focused on problem resolution</li>\n <li>Project Management or Systems Engineering experience</li>\n <li>Naval Nuclear experience is highly desirable</li>\n <li>Knowledge of supply chain management</li>\n <li>Previous experience with Oracle systems</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Skills</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Excellent oral and written communication skills </li>\n <li>Problem Solving and Causal Analysis</li>\n <li>Technical Writing</li>\n <li>Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize task assignments</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to use judgment when solving issues and setting priorities</li>\n <li>Ability to effectively communicate with suppliers and EB Management and employees</li>\n <li>Teamwork - works effectively as both team lead and / or member</li>\n <li>Adaptable to changing situations and quickly adjust approaches</li>\n <li>Self-Starter willing to learn new and unfamiliar areas</li>\n <li>Meeting facilitation and public speaking experience</li>\n <li>Ability to work cross-functionally with internal & external customers including: Suppliers, Operations, Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, and government stakeholders</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Environmental Attributes</h2>Inside",
