The Shop Technician demonstrates foundational technical skills while participating in on-the-job training, classroom instruction, and e-learning designed to develop those skills. Attends departmental safety meetings and contributes to training topics in a productive manner. </li>\n <li>Maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all types of mechanical and hydraulic- and diesel-powered equipment. </li>\n <li>Skill-level requirements vary from basic repairs and preventive maintenance to component replacement with direct and frequent supervision.</li>\n <li>Requires basic working knowledge of equipment operation and associated operating systems. </li>\n <li>Requires basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic circuits/drawings/prints. </li>\n <li>Ability to use diagnostic equipment (i.e., Cat ET, CAT-SIS) </li>\n <li>Familiarization of electronic cables, connections, and sensors. </li>\n <li>Maintain, diagnose and repair a variety of equipment including diesel engines, transmissions, drive train components, winches, high pressure pumps, centrifugal pumps, air compressors, microprocessor controls, electro-mechanical equipment, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, gearboxes, PTO's, 12/24v electrical systems, equipment cabs and controls, chassis and suspension, A/C systems etc. </li>\n <li>Performs inspections required by company. </li>\n <li>Installs and/or replace new or reconditioned repair parts. </li>\n <li>Tests equipment for proper operation. </li>\n <li>Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.</li>\n <li>Operates lifting devices. </li>\n <li>Must complete proper paperwork as assigned. </li>\n <li>Preparing parts requisitions, timecards, part returns, accurate and complete service reports and other necessary reports and forms.</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent required.</li>\n <li>3+ years-experience maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing diesel equipment preferred.</li>\n <li>Shift work, weekends and/or 24-hour call may be required.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and proper repair procedures is required.</li>\n <li>Must be able to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics, operating and maintenance service manuals.</li>\n <li>Organizational and time management skills required. Must have the ability to set and keep priorities and professionally handle the stress associated with dealing with a fast paced industry and deadlines.</li>\n <li>Must be a Team player that is enthusiastic and hard working with the ability to complete work with minimal supervision.</li>\n <li>High degree of interpersonal skills with excellent written and oral communication skills is required.</li>\n <li>Must possess the personal discipline to establish the proper image as a representative of Blanchard with the ability to meet and work with the customer in a professional manner.</li>\n <li>Strong problem solving skills and be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy.</li>\n <li>Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Working Conditions</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>The physical environment requires the employee to work primarily inside (non-climate controlled) throughout the day.</li>\n <li>Require employee to be physically present at designated worksite locations.</li>\n <li>Shift work and/or weekends may be required.</li>\n <li>Required to use personal protective equipment to prevent injury and/or hazardous material.</li>\n <li>Job requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting.</li>\n <li>Physical use of a broad variety of tools and machines in order to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment.</li>\n <li>Must be able to lift varied weights up to 50 lbs. unassisted.</li>\n <li>Requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting.</li>\n <li>Seeing, reading, and writing to complete job responsibilities.</li>\n <li>Use of computers and other forms of technology to complete job responsibilities.</li>\n</ul>",
