This organization operates large dry dock facilities and maintains a skilled workforce of craftsmen and professional support teams.</p><p>If you’re a seasoned ship repair estimator ready to lead a department, drive business development, and oversee complex Navy and commercial bid packages, this is a high-impact leadership opportunity in a fast-paced marine environment.</p><hr><h3>What You’ll Do</h3><p>Lead and manage the daily operations of the Estimating Department.</p><p>Supervise and mentor a team of Sr. Estimators, Estimators, Procurement Specialists, and support staff.</p><p>Develop and implement standardized estimating and proposal processes.</p><p>Assign, delegate, and monitor estimating tasks to ensure deadlines are met.</p><p>Perform final review and approval of complex cost estimates and bid packages.</p><p>Respond to RFPs, interpret technical drawings, conduct ship checks, and develop pricing strategies.</p><p>Negotiate contract changes and manage change orders.</p><p>Collaborate with executive leadership, vendors, subcontractors, and consultants.</p><p>Support business development efforts and identify new opportunities.</p><p>Plan future staffing needs and stay current on industry developments.</p><hr><h3>What We’re Looking For</h3><p>Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).</p><p>10+ years of ship repair or marine industry experience.</p><p>5+ years of management experience preferred.</p><p>Strong knowledge of Navy vessels, NAVSEA standards, ship construction methods, and government contracts.</p><p>Advanced estimating strategy and proposal writing experience.</p><p>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and federal contracts.</p><p>Experience with work sequencing and scheduling.</p><p>Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project (or similar scheduling software).</p><p>Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.</p><hr><h3>Requirements</h3><p>U.S. Citizenship (clearance/base access required).</p><p>Valid Hawaii REAL ID-compliant driver’s license (Class 3 or higher) or valid U.S. Passport plus Hawaii driver’s license.</p><p>Ability to obtain and maintain TWIC and DBIDS credentials.</p><p>Must pass post-offer drug screening and background check.</p><hr><h3>Perks & Benefits</h3><p>Competitive executive-level compensation.</p><p>Leadership opportunity within a large, established shipyard supporting Navy and commercial clients.</p><p>Long-term stability with a legacy organization.</p><p>Collaborative, team-driven culture built on integrity, commitment, and loyalty.</p><hr><h3>Work Environment</h3><p>Fast-paced shipyard environment supporting active Navy and commercial repair projects.</p><p>Office-based leadership role with frequent collaboration across departments and on-site vessel inspections.</p>INDH",
