Through our people, leadership development, services, technology and scale, Wabtec delivers better outcomes for global customers by speaking the language of industry.</p><p>&#xa0;</p><p>Summary</p><ul><li>Must be able to work&#xa0;<strong>1st</strong><strong> Shift - 7:00am - 3:30pm</strong></li><li>Prepare and coat manufactured parts for production.</li><li>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</li><li>Prepares&#xa0;(masks &amp; clean), coats, and finishes metal and/or other surfaces.</li><li>Operates wet paint Graco system to spray industrial paint finishes on metal and other types of surfaces.</li><li>Inspects painted units for runs, debris, fish eye, and uncoated areas. Coated parts must be uniform in mil thickness, hardness, gloss level, and conform to specified color.&#xa0;</li><li>Inspects and replaces components on paint guns to ensure they are at optimum performance.</li><li>Performing daily checks and maintenance</li><li>Assist in daily 5s and cleaning procedures.</li><li>Cleans paint from ceiling and walls of booth, conveyor hooks or grid, and from spray heads, and hoses.</li><li>Weekly replace air filters inside the paint booth.</li><li>Monthly respray of inside of paint booth with peel away coating.</li><li>Touches up defective areas of coated items.</li><li>Assists&#xa0;other operators as needed.</li><li>Assists&#xa0;others in obtaining solutions to quality and production issues.</li><li>Other duties as may be required or&#xa0;assigned.</li></ul><p>Education/Work Experience Requirements</p><ul><li>Must possess the knowledge, skill and ability to apply coating principles and practices; locate, identify and correct problems such as; fisheye, poor&#xa0;adhesion or rough coatings.</li><li>Must have&#xa0;the knowledge and skill to set, use and read measuring instruments such as&#xa0;viscosity testers and thickness gages.</li><li>Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches.</li><li>Must possess the knowledge and ability to interpret various specifications and standards to determine color, coating thickness, applicable mixing instructions and any other factors that affect the finished product.</li><li>Must possess the ability to use tools and equipment that are needed to perform coating operations in an industrial setting.</li><li>Must have good listening and communication skills.</li><li>Able to work well with others to be a good team player.</li></ul><p>Physical and Mental Requirements</p><p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.</p><p><strong>Environment:&#xa0;</strong>While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an indoor manufacturing environment.&#xa0; The employee will work in areas exposed to production activities to include but not limited to production machinery, assembly operations, overhead cranes usage, and forklift traffic.&#xa0; The employee will be required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to workplace hazards.</p><p><strong>Mental Demands:&#xa0;&#xa0;</strong>While performing the duties of this class, the employee is regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information and documents; analyze and solve problems; use math and mathematical reasoning; observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or skills&#xa0;and interact with other employees, customers and vendors.</p><p>&#xa0;</p><p>Our job titles may span more than one career level.
