Research Support Specialist

Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume): Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Ability to demonstrate professional competence in research activities. Preferred Qualifications: Specialized training and experience in autism research study administration and data collection and interpretation. Brief Description of Duties: The Research Support Specialist is an entry human subjects’ researcher, responsible for conducting and assisting in autism clinical research studies under the supervision of Dr. Michelle Menezes in the Department of Psychiatry. This individual obtains informed consent, collects data, maintains and organizes data and study information. Assists in the preparation and submission of study documents, including regulatory documents. The successful incumbent will have excellent interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational and time-management skills with an exceptional attention to detail. Essential for this role is the adeptness to work independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving. Duties: Assists in the activities related to clinical research including, but not limited to: leading recruitment efforts, obtaining informed consent, screening participants for eligibility, administering and scoring clinical assessments and questionnaires, securing clinical specimens, scheduling study visits, managing study data, and answering telephone calls and emails. Perform literature searches, staying current in the field by reading and discussing the literature and study results with the study team. Other duties or projects as assigned.
