    "description": "<h2>Description</h2>\n<p><strong>This position is expected to be a field assignment, meaning travel is required. The location of the assignment can vary depending on the job and/or client. We do offer per diem for those that qualify.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Position Overview:</p>\n<p>The Construction Management Specialist will work closely with all project team members and closely supervise all contractor and sub-contractor trade employees. Our Construction Managers must be highly organized, communicate effectively, work well with a team, and help ensure timely completion of projects in fast-paced environments. This is a traveling Construction Management position supporting project work across multiple sites. The successful candidate will move from site to site, with typical project assignments lasting about 3–9 months, and may occasionally travel to other locations for a few days to support additional projects.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Primary Responsibilities:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Develop project-specific construction management and/or commissioning management work plans;</li>\n <li>Perform Home office or remote pre-construction planning work before field mobilization;</li>\n <li>Lead and manage the site construction management and commissioning staff;</li>\n <li>Monitor overall construction and commissioning progress, cost, quality, scope, and safety;</li>\n <li>Manage and mitigate construction and commissioning work risk;</li>\n <li>Report construction progress and cost to the Project Manager or Owner;</li>\n <li>Lead and attend construction project performance review meetings;</li>\n <li>Plan construction process by developing schedules, phasing, and lookaheads;</li>\n <li>Keep track of project progress and maintain schedules; </li>\n <li>Ensure the job site remains safe, clean, and orderly;</li>\n <li>Communicate any field conflicts and notify the internal project team;</li>\n <li>Keep all documentation up to date for internal and external project members;</li>\n <li>Collaborate with the internal construction team, engineers, subcontractors, etc. to determine project needs; </li>\n <li>Monitor and report on project progress; </li>\n <li>Adhere to estimated costs and ensure the project is on budget (and is profitable) </li>\n <li> Supervise field staff and provide constructive feedback;</li>\n <li>Coordinate requests for appropriate staffing;</li>\n <li>Resolve on-site issues and emergencies;</li>\n <li>Ensure compliance with safety, health, and quality standards.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Essential skills and experience:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Construction management experience, directly related to T&D transmission, substation construction, or industrial construction management</li>\n <li>Determination of staff positions and size; interviewing and selection of personnel experience</li>\n <li>Construction labor knowledge and labor planning experience</li>\n <li>Experience in establishing and effectively using project controls tools to manage a large construction project</li>\n <li>Understanding of a process approach to accomplishing construction management and start-up testing work</li>\n <li>Demonstrated client relationship-building experience</li>\n <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li>\n <li>Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with and guide others in potentially adversarial situations</li>\n <li>Successful and proven experience as an Industrial Construction Site Manager</li>\n <li>Industrial Field Experience, Trade School Graduate, or Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management/Engineering preferred</li>\n <li>Knowledge of quality, safety, and health guidelines for sizeable industrial construction job sites</li>\n <li>In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes</li>\n <li>Understanding the importance of proper phase codes and assigning time</li>\n <li>Proficiency in MS Office Suite</li>\n <li>Organizational and time-management skills</li>\n <li>Ability to lead and inspire</li>\n <li>OSHA 10 or 30.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Award-Winning Benefits</h2>\n<p>At Sargent & Lundy, we care about the health and well-being of our employees.
