    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>ABOUT THE POSITION</strong></p>\n<p>VHB has an immediate need for a Team Leader of Site Investigation & Remediation (SI&R) to lead our growing SI&R practice on Long Island! This people-focused and market-connected leader will leverage established market connections and VHB’s talented business development team and professional service lines to successfully pursue and win business opportunities with new and existing clients.</p>\n<h2><strong>Responsibilities</strong></h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Carries out supervisory responsibilities, including planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating and coaching team member performance; promoting and monitoring quality assurance of services and deliverables; and coaching and mentoring.</li>\n <li>Oversees and manages the success of SI&R revenue growth on Long Island, as well as project billing and collections, staff utilization and project profitability.</li>\n <li>Engages and leads technical proposal teams or a major component of a proposal team.</li>\n <li>Develops and manages employee staffing, recruitment, selection, and training plans.</li>\n <li>Manages, plans, develops, organizes, and implements environmental investigation and remediation projects.</li>\n <li>Explores subject area, defines scope, selects areas for investigation, and develops novel concepts.</li>\n <li>Determines client requirements and develops plans, specifications, drawings, instructions, cost estimates, reports, bid packages, and related documents.</li>\n <li>Ensures each project complies with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.</li>\n <li>Acts as technical liaison within and outside VHB with responsibility to act independently regarding technical matters on environmental projects.</li>\n <li>Represents VHB at meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish needs and discuss design/permitting issues.</li>\n <li>Performs business and client development activities.</li>\n <li>Participates in professional and personal development aligned with career goals.</li>\n <li>Provides direction and guidance to technical team members and reviews their work for technical accuracy.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Skills and Attributes </h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong understanding of applicable local and State regulatory requirements</li>\n <li>Extensive experience managing and performing preliminary assessments, site investigations, remedial investigations and remedial actions in New York</li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience working as a trusted advisor to clients</li>\n <li>Strong business development skills with an established network of clients and potential clients</li>\n <li>Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills</li>\n <li>Willingness to mentor junior staff and work in a team-based atmosphere</li>\n <li>Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented.</li>\n <li>Strong knowledge of site assessment/characterization, data analysis, remediation techniques, and risk assessment is required</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, partner, influence, consult, and collaborate with all levels within the organization</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>B.S. in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or Engineering </li>\n <li>Professional Engineering or Professional Geology license in New York preferred</li>\n <li>8+ years of environmental remediation experience </li>\n <li>Prior supervisory experience</li>\n <li>Master’s Degree preferred </li>\n <li>OSHA 40 hr. HAZWOPER certification and annual refresher certifications required</li>\n</ul>\n<p>The base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $145,000 for our Hauppauge, New York location. This offer is determined based on a number of job-related factors including internal comparators, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities and geographic location.
