An individual coming to Zenith will not only receive competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, but continuous opportunities to grow as a professional.</p>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Under direction of managing attorney, performs duties of legal counsel on increasingly complex legal matters in the defense and representation of the Company in a variety of courts of law, and other related appearances.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Handles workers’ compensation cases under the state administrative process (trial level), as well as state and federal courts.</li>\n <li>Defends workers' compensation cases.</li>\n <li>Takes depositions, analyzes testimony, prepares and files related reports.</li>\n <li>Represents the Company in appearances at hearings and conferences; prepares and files related reports.</li>\n <li>Researches and prepares and files appropriate legal pleadings for cases under the state administrative process (trial level), as well as state and federal civil courts.</li>\n <li>Provides advice, training and recommendations on case handling strategies to representatives of the Claims Department.</li>\n <li>Performs legal research at all levels, from advising clients through the appellate procedures.</li>\n <li>Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.</li>\n <li>Responds positively to direction and critique of performance.</li>\n <li>Consistently maintain professional and appropriate demeanor.</li>\n <li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform regular reviews on appropriate access levels based on job titles/roles for core systems.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Education</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience Req</li>\n <li>Juris Doctorate Law school graduate and member in good standing of the State Bar Req</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to efficiently communicate both orally and in writing, in an articulate, persuasive, precise and professional manner.</li>\n <li>Ability to lift legal files, including documents and exhibits, up to a weight of 30 pounds.</li>\n <li>Must be willing and able to travel extensively using all means of public transportation, as well as capable of prolonged automobile driving, in excess of three hours a day, to widely dispersed venues.</li>\n <li>Valid Driver License in good standing.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Pay, Benefits, and Other Information</h2>\n<p>The expected salary range for this position is $94,309.95  - $117,887.43 . Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
