We are extremely invested in our local community, partnering with the YMCA for the Cycle for Strong Kids annually, donating to the Ottawa Food Bank, partnering with Boys and Girls Club Ottawa to create opportunities for young people, and donating to charities our team members support.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">The Role</span></p>\n<p>The Journeyperson – Refrigeration &amp; Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic (313A) is responsible for the installation and commissioning of commercial, institutional, and industrial refrigeration, air conditioning, and natural gas systems. The role includes reading and interpreting blueprints, assembling and testing equipment, and ensuring all installations meet safety and code requirements. This position is ideal for an experienced tradesperson with a strong background in refrigeration and gas piping installation who is committed to quality, safety, and teamwork.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Install, assemble, and test refrigeration, air conditioning, and natural gas piping systems in accordance with project specifications and applicable codes.</li>\n<li>Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics to plan layouts and determine material and equipment requirements.</li>\n<li>Perform brazing, soldering, and pressure testing to verify system integrity and code compliance.</li>\n<li>Install refrigeration lines, piping supports, valves, controls, sensors, and insulation.</li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with TSSA, CSA, and company standards for gas line installation, pressure testing, and safety.</li>\n<li>Assist with system start-up, charging, leak testing, and commissioning.</li>\n<li>Support troubleshooting and maintenance activities during construction and project turnover.</li>\n<li>Coordinate with other trades to ensure efficient, conflict-free installation and adherence to construction schedules.</li>\n<li>Maintain accurate installation documentation, including test results, material tracking, and as-built records.</li>\n<li>Mentor and guide apprentices on safe work practices, installation techniques, and quality workmanship.</li>\n<li>Participate actively in the company’s health and safety program, adhering to all safety policies and site procedures.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Education </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) – 313A Refrigeration &amp; Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic (Journeyperson).</li>\n<li>Gas Technician License – G1 preferred, G2 accepted.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Experience</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>This position is governed by a collective agreement.
