    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Overview:</span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Reporting to the relevant Language Team Leader or Assistant Director, and as an integral part of Questel’s Language Services Team, this role is responsible for producing high-quality, accurate translations of technical documents, for revising these documents where necessary, and for managing external vendor performance.</span><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Principal Duties &amp; Responsibilities:</span> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">•    Read, revise, and evaluate translated documents to detect errors in meaning, accuracy, usage, terminology, spelling, grammar, style, tone, and syntax, and any discrepancy from the source text.</span><br><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">•    Edit translated documents to ensure a true and accurate representation of source document content, adherence to style guides, and compliance with client-specific and country-specific publication specifications</span><br><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">•    Conduct quality control of translations in the target text (Traditional Chinese) and against the source text (English)</span><br><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">•    When required, perform translation and/or MT post-editing of documents</span><br><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">•    Evaluate translator performance and provide support and guidance to translation vendors</span><br><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">•    Manage translation memory and term bases using Questel’s internal system</span><br><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">•    Manage Client Guidelines, TermBases, and Translation Memories</span><br><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">•    Work on other work-related duties as assigned by management</span><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Qualifications &amp; Skills:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><em>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential function.</em></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Education and Experience:</span>  Bachelor’s degree in languages, translation, or a technical discipline or excellent command of source and target languages (English to Traditional Chinese), and at least 3 (three) years professional translation experience required, esp. in patent industry is preferred.  Candidates with an academic background in engineering—particularly in electrical, electronic, communication, or mechanical engineering—will be given strong preference.
