Licensed or license pending in the State of Illinois without previous disciplinary action in Illinois or other states.  Current CPR card.</p>\n<p>The Occupational Therapist I is responsible and accountable for providing examinations, evaluations, therapy diagnosis, interventions, and prognosis in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies and procedures.  Emphasis on managing daily clinical caseload efficiently including: effective treatment, and appropriate documentation and billing practices. The maximum allowable time to practice in a license pending status/under a licensed Occupational Therapist is 6 months per licensing regulations.  </li>\n <li>CPR Certification preferred.</li>\n <li>If applicable, must possess valid Illinois driver’s license and must be deemed as an acceptable driver in accordance with the MHS Fleet Safety Policy (5 year MVR will be required).</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Achieves & maintains 0-10 points on the Clinical Ladder Grid.</li>\n <li>Basic computer skills required.</li>\n <li>Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with patients, families, peer and other team members as needed for assessment, intervention, and professional development.</li>\n <li>Must be physically able to lift, support, move patients 50 – 100 lbs.</li>\n <li>Universal Precautions Category I</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform Patient assessments with patients in a specific service area.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assign an Occupational Therapy treatment diagnosis.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Establishes plan of care with objective, measurable goals.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provides interventions supported by evidenced based practice in accordance to the established plan of care</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assesses the effectiveness of treatment and modifies treatment to achieve goals.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Plans for discharge.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Communicates with patient, family, caregivers and members of team to promote maximum benefit of care.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide patient care documentation that meets quality standards and supports ethical billing practice.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrates ability to organize workload and manage time effectively.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintains positive working relationship with patients and referral base.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrates teamwork by routinely offering to help others or assisting others whenever needed.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrates ability to handle difficult and/or stressful situations appropriately.</li>\n <li>Performs other related work as required or requested.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Physical Demands</p>\n<p>The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to walk, stand, bend and reach.</li>\n <li>The employee will frequently be required to lift, push and pull weight of at least 1 to 5 pounds. </li>\n</ul>\n<p>Mental Demands</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to work under stress and adapt to changing conditions.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>",
