    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>The Machinist will be tasked to safely and efficiently set up and operate a CNC Lathe. Machines include Okuma CNC Lathes, Mazak CNC Lathes. This role requires onsite presence for day shift work.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Primary Responsibilities</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Under the direction of a supervisor or experienced machinist, produce quality parts on CNC machines (including lathes and milling machines) in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.</li>\n <li>Operate CNC machines, perform setup changes, and conduct first article inspections during production runs.</li>\n <li>Load parts using overhead lifting equipment; prove programs; operate machine controls; set offsets; perform simple program edits; deburr parts; and inspect finished parts to ensure conformance with specifications.</li>\n <li>Identify potential issues before production runs. Start and monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions and adjust machine controls or programs as required.</li>\n <li>Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and precision measuring instruments to determine dimensions, tolerances, and tooling requirements.</li>\n <li>Maintain knowledge of tooling instructions, including fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and cutting tools.</li>\n <li>Maintain a clean and organized work area and perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment.</li>\n <li>Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.</li>\n <li>Comply with all NOV company policies, including Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Facility-Specific Responsibilities</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize machining processes and improve efficiency.</li>\n <li>Identify and correctly utilize tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, and inserts.</li>\n <li>Read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments, including profilometers, dial indicators, depth gauges, OD/ID micrometers, and groove micrometers.</li>\n <li>Machine parts to tight tolerances, often within ±0.0005 inches.</li>\n <li>Follow dispatch reports to ensure jobs are completed in the correct sequence.</li>\n <li>Ensure machined products meet specifications before moving to the next operation.</li>\n <li>Produce high-quality parts that meet all required specifications.</li>\n <li>Maintain work area and equipment in good condition.</li>\n <li>Manage personal workflow to meet production requirements.</li>\n <li>Meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity standards.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Required and Preferred Qualifications</p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent</li>\n <li>3+ years of experience as a Lathe Machinist in a manufacturing environment</li>\n <li>Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check</li>\n <li>Proficient in reading and basic math, and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints</li>\n <li>Strong understanding of machining principles and practices, including CNC programming and setup</li>\n <li>Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges</li>\n <li>Can demonstrate good work ethic</li>\n <li>Ability to work well with the team</li>\n <li>Experience with multi-axis CNC lathes, preferred</li>\n <li>Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and practices; prefered&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Skills</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Familiarity with tooling and fixtures used in lathe operations</li>\n <li>Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality</li>\n <li>Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment</li>\n <li>Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt to changing priorities</li>\n <li>Willingness to take initiative and contribute to continuous improvement efforts</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Physical Requirements</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Regularly required to sit or stand, bend, and reach.</li>\n <li>Regularly required to operate a computer and other office machinery using finger dexterity for typing and writing.</li>\n <li>Regularly required to communicate, converse with, and exchange information by means of the spoken and written word.</li>\n <li>Regularly required to perform light physical effort to lift or move lightweight materials up to 40 pounds.</li>\n <li>Regularly required to view a computer screen.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Behavioral Expectations</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Excellence</li>\n <li>Team Oriented</li>\n <li>Integrity</li>\n <li>Respectful</li>\n <li>Hardworking</li>\n <li>Dependable</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>",
