As a Data Engineer, this is what you’ll be doing: As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in building and maintaining data pipelines that power QS’s analytics and AI platforms. You will work closely with senior engineers, data scientists, and data acquisition teams to ensure data is ingested, transformed, and delivered efficiently and accurately. This role focuses on hands-on development, optimisation, and troubleshooting of data workflows, while contributing to the evolution of QS’s data architecture.          Role responsibilities: Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and semi-structured datasets. Support integration of external datasets into QS’s data lake and analytics platforms. Collaborate with senior engineers to implement best practices for data quality, governance, and security. Assist in building automated workflows for data acquisition and validation. Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure reliability. Work with APIs and web scraping tools to accelerate data acquisition projects. Document processes and contribute to improving engineering standards. Any other duties that fall within the scope and purpose of the role. Key skills and experience: Experience in data engineering or related roles. Proficiency in SQL and Python for data processing. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake). Familiarity with orchestration tools (Airflow, dbt) and version control (Git). Understanding of data modeling and pipeline optimization. Exposure to APIs and web scraping techniques is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
