Interested in learning more about California native and non-native plants?  Be a part of our ongoing growth and success and join the Habitat Restoration Sciences team! This position is responsible for working as a team member under direct supervision of a Crew Leader or Foreman. The work varies each day, but can include:  vegetation management, weed removal, installing and maintaining plants, and installing and repairing irrigation systems.    This position is a <strong>temporary position</strong> with variable hours. Temporary employees are those employed for short-term assignments.  Schedules will vary from week to week based on project requirements.  Position is not eligible for company benefits except as required by applicable law.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Work closely with supervisor in installation of construction and landscape construction projects</li>\n <li>Operate a variety of hand and power tools</li>\n <li>Maintain and care for company equipment, tools and vehicles</li>\n <li>Perform highly physical installation work on a consistent basis</li>\n <li>Maintain a clean and safe job site</li>\n <li>Work as part of a team and take direction</li>\n <li>Follow all safety procedures on project site</li>\n <li>Always represent the company’s best interest, maintain the highest level of integrity</li>\n <li>Keep accurate timesheet records, submitted for review and signoff by the required deadlines</li>\n <li>Complete project daily reports if needed</li>\n <li>Perform other tasks or projects as assigned/instructed by supervisor</li>\n <li>List the main responsibilities of this role</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma or Equivalent</li>\n <li>1 to 3 years’ experience in landscape industry</li>\n <li>Valid driver’s license with a clean DMV record</li>\n <li>Ability to travel out of town/overnight</li>\n <li>Highly motivated, self-driven, detail oriented</li>\n <li>Great time management skills; available for seasonal long hours and weekends</li>\n <li>Punctual and dependable</li>\n <li>Ability to work effectively with individuals of differing backgrounds, knowledge and skill levels</li>\n <li>Must possess a valid driver’s license and have active personal automobile liability insurance by first day of employment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Hands-on experience with irrigation system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting</li>\n <li>Direct experience in habitat restoration, including planting, invasive species removal, and ecosystem management</li>\n <li>Experience in the safe handling and application of pesticides, including compliance with local and federal regulations</li>\n <li>Comfort working in outdoor, variable conditions and performing physically demanding tasks</li>\n <li>Proven ability to work effectively in field teams and coordinate with multiple stakeholder</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Compensation: </strong>$20-23 hourly*</p>\n<p>*Final agreed-upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location. Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check prior to beginning employment.</p>\n<p><strong>Working Conditions </strong>Environment</p>\n<ul>\n <li>This job operates in an outdoor or office-based environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc.</li>\n <li>Outdoor activity may involve walking/trekking in uneven terrain over long distances in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time.</li>\n <li>This job requires project site visits, based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, and moving vehicles and equipment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p>\n<p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
