Apply today to join our team!</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>As a Dietary Aide you wil</strong><strong>l </strong>perform a variety of duties within a food service operation such as portioning and serving meals, washing and peeling vegetables and fruit, preparing items such as tea, coffee and toast, and washing dishes and utensils.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>ABOUT BELLA BELLA, BC:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Bella Bella is a beautiful island community off the central coast of British Columbia, 690 km north of Vancouver. It is surrounded by a magical world of channels, inlets and old growth forest. It is home to salmon, orcas, humpbacks, bald eagles and the other denizens of the Pacific Northwest. The climate is mild and the area is a paradise for kayaking, sport fishing, hiking and photography.</p>\n<p>The Heiltsuk Hospital in Bella Bella has 7 acute beds, 7 long term care beds and a 4-bed emergency department open 24/7, along with Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging services. It offers telehealth services as well as speciality clinics. Heiltsuk Hospital also has an Intensive Case Management team for mental health and substance use. There is a medical clinic and a pharmacy located in the hospital. The healthcare team consists of Physicians, RNs, LPNs, PCAs, Laboratory and Radiology Technologists, Combined Lab/X-Ray Technologists, Pharmacist, Pharmacy Assistants, and Support Services Personnel.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Heiltsuk Hospital is located on the traditional territories of the Heiltsuk Nation. It is one of the only provincial hospitals located on a reserve in all of Canada.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>For more information regarding work on a reserve, please refer to this link: <em>https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/indigenous-peoples/information-indians.html</em></p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education & Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Grade 10 or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.</li>\n <li>Successful completion of Food Safe I.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.</li>\n <li>Ability to deal with others effectively.</li>\n <li>Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.</li>\n <li>Ability to organize work.</li>\n <li>Ability to operate related equipment.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Closing Statement</h2>\n<p>The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks.
