Specialized services include support for and referral to external agency for serious emotional, psychological, and behavioral outcomes relating to sexual assault/violence. Services also include community development, consultation and coordination of educational/informational sessions.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">QUALIFICATIONS:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>A minimum college diploma/degree in social services, Indigenous Learning, or related field and a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience.</li>\n<li>Specialized training to assess and treat sexual abuse/sexual violence.</li>\n<li>Proven experience in and knowledge of victims’ issues (child abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence etc.)</li>\n<li>Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.</li>\n<li>Ability to create and maintain a welcoming, friendly, and safe environment for Community Members.</li>\n<li>Strong communicator - excellent written, oral, facilitation skills.</li>\n<li>Knowledge of and relationships with other service agencies, ability to network and create/maintain these relationships.</li>\n<li>Strong organizational skills with an ability to plan ahead define measurable objectives and outcomes and meet objectives in a timely manner.</li>\n<li>Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction and be able to improve performance through management feedback.</li>\n<li>A clear understanding and/or personal experience of violence as experienced by Indigenous women and their families are a significant asset.</li>\n<li>The ability to speak Ojibway and/or Oji-Cree is an asset.</li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience providing services to Indigenous families and/or communities.</li>\n<li>Excellent written and oral communications, with emphasis on keen listening and ability to effectively interpret verbal communications and needs of prospective Community Members.</li>\n<li>Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office; competency working with other databases.</li>\n<li>Knowledge and understanding of current issues facing Indigenous Women and their families.</li>\n<li>Ability to travel and work flexible hours.<br>Ability to speak an Indigenous Language is considered an asset.</li>\n<li>A cellular phone and internet access is required within this position</li>\n<li>Must be willing and able to work a flexible working from home arrangement if required. This may include a combination of virtual remote work in your home and in office arrangements. This will be based on operational needs and will be determined by the ONWA.</li>\n<li>Current, valid vulnerable sector criminal records check.
