Candidates will be trained in Quality Control systems, Electric Boat procedures applicable to the work they are performing and Quality Department Instructions.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>All successful candidates will be required to maintain an MT or PT certification. Further opportunities for inspection disciplines such as UT, Pre-Test, Electrical, Mechanical, etc. may be made available once proficiency has been achieved and maintained in Magnetic Particle.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Successful candidates will embody the Electric Boats Core Values, work safely, be responsible for themselves, their peers, the ship, and crew who will operate our vessel. This position requires inspectors who perform with integrity and purpose.  Our sailors and their families deserve excellence in our workmanship and first-time quality. We are the last line of defense for the integrity of our product.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position follows an alternative work week schedule, working three 12-hour shifts from Friday – Sunday at the <strong>Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.</strong></p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Required:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma or equivalent OR 2 plus years of related technical experience.</li>\n <li>Must be able to obtain an MT, PT, or ET certification.</li>\n <li>Must be able to attain a key department qualification/certification within the first six months after starting as a Quality Inspector.</li>\n <li>Ability to grind joints and clear indications as needed throughout inspection process.</li>\n <li>Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, shipyard procedures, test documents, blueprints, and diagrams.</li>\n <li>Basic mathematical skills.</li>\n <li>Ability to work at heights, tightly confined spaces and in extreme weather conditions.</li>\n <li>Accurate documentation, record keeping and archiving along with verifying previous status of work for completion is a critical job function.</li>\n <li>Possess your own basic hand tools.</li>\n <li>Must be able to work all shifts, extended weekdays and weekends as required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Preferred:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Inspection/quality assurance experience.</li>\n <li>Mechanical and Electrical experience.</li>\n <li>Pipe hanger installation experience.</li>\n <li>Structural experience.</li>\n <li>NACE Certified.</li>\n <li>Metal fabrication experience.</li>\n <li>Military shipbuilding experience.</li>\n <li>Completion of Vocational, Technical, Community College or Apprentice programs.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of shipboard assemblies, installations, components, and structures.</li>\n <li>Related military/Navy experience. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Skills</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards.</li>\n <li>Effective notetaking and documentation skills.</li>\n <li>Adaptability to switch from one job to another as business needs dictate.</li>\n <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills.</li>\n <li>Ability to work in a collaborative and team environment to meet organizational goals.</li>\n <li>Positive, self-motivated attitude with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Physical Qualifications</h2>Climbing, Color Vision, Crawling, Kneeling, Light Lifting, Medium Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Stooping, Twisting\n<h2>Environmental Attributes</h2>Acids or Alkalis, Cold, Dry, Dusty, Fumes, Hot, Inside, Noise, Oily, Wet",
