Job Posting: Trail Crew Youth Positions – Skye River Trail We’koqma’q First Nation Three (3) Seasonal Positions Term: June 1, 2026 to September 4, 2026 Position Summary We’koqma’q First Nation is seeking three motivated youth to join the Skye River Trail Youth Trail Crew Program. This paid summer opportunity combines meaningful employment with structured training in trail stewardship, environmental responsibility, teamwork, and hands-on skill development. Duties and Responsibilities •    Trail maintenance and upkeep •    Vegetation management and clearing debris •    Basic surface repairs and trail feature maintenance •    Erosion control and environmental stewardship projects •    Accessibility improvements and pathway clearing •    Assisting with educational or cultural trail activities •    Safe use of tools and equipment •    Supporting team projects and daily work plans •    Developing workplace readiness skills such as punctuality, teamwork, communication, and accountability •    Respecting land-based values and Indigenous stewardship principles Qualifications •    Must be youth aged 15–30 and eligible for summer employment funding programs •    Reliable and willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions •    Positive attitude and willingness to learn •    Ability to work independently and as part of a team •    Interest in nature, trails, environmental work, or community service is an asset •    Must follow safety procedures and staff direction •    Preference will be given to We'koqma'q community members What You Will Gain •    Paid summer employment •    Hands-on outdoor work experience •    Training in trail maintenance and stewardship •    Job readiness and teamwork skills •    Mentorship from experienced staff •    Opportunity to contribute positively to community spaces Application Deadline: May 31, 2026
