Description
AMAX is seeking a customer facing Field Engineer to serve as the technical bridge between customers, sales teams, and internal engineering groups for OEM server and rack infrastructure solutions.This role combines technical engineering support, solution coordination, and customer engagement across the full project lifecycle — from requirement discussions and system architecture reviews to deployment support and issue resolution.
The ideal candidate is technically strong, highly communicative, customer oriented, and capable of coordinating across multiple engineering disciplines while supporting sales activities and customer relationships.
Customer Technical Interface
Serve as the primary technical liaison between customers and AMAX engineering teams.
Understand customer technical requirements and communicate them clearly to internal engineering, manufacturing, validation, and program teams.
Coordinate technical discussions regarding server platforms, rack integration, thermal design, networking, storage, power, and deployment requirements.
Support issue tracking, technical clarification, and engineering change communication.
Sales & Pre Sales Support
Support sales teams during customer visits, technical presentations, and solution discussions.
Assist with solution recommendations, technical proposals, and configuration guidance.
Help customers understand AMAX capabilities, customization options, and deployment considerations.
Participate in project kickoff meetings, technical reviews, and customer escalations.
Engineering Coordination
Coordinate with internal hardware, mechanical, thermal, BIOS/BMC, validation, manufacturing, and quality teams.
Facilitate communication between customers and internal engineering groups to ensure timely issue resolution.
Monitor project technical status and help drive action items across departments.
Support prototype evaluations, customer testing, and deployment readiness activities.
Technical Support & Problem Solving
Assist customers with troubleshooting system level issues during qualification and deployment phases.
Support root cause analysis and communicate corrective actions clearly to customers.
Help manage technical documentation, deployment feedback, and engineering reports.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
Experience with:
Server hardware platforms
Rack integration
Data center infrastructure
Networking/storage systems
OEM/ODM environments
Strong customer facing communication and presentation skills.
Ability to translate technical information between engineering teams and customers.
Experience supporting sales activities and customer meetings is highly preferred.
Strong project coordination and problem solving skills.
Ability to travel for customer visits and onsite support.
This position is offering a salary range between $90,000 to $120,000 annually. This may be subject to change depending on the candidate's experience and skill level.
