Experienced Staff Auditors will often start to direct small audits.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>Successful candidates will enjoy minimal out of town travel and a great work-life balance, including a hybrid work schedule. &nbsp;Maher Duessel offers quality experience working with well known clients, as well as a competitive compensation and benefits package.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p><u>Qualifications:</u></p><ul><li>An undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting, and/or an undergraduate or graduate degree with sufficient coursework to qualify to become licensed as a CPA</li><li>Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting</li><li>Government and non-profit audit experience preferred</li><li>Proficiency of firm technology, including the use of Caseware, RIA Checkpoint, CCH, and Practice Engine&nbsp;</li><li>Have demonstrated an ability to work independently</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills</li><li>Written and verbal communication skills</li><li>A strong dedication to teamwork and client service&nbsp;</li><li>Integrity within the professional environment</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook)</li><li>Ability to adapt to work schedule and job requirements, including some travel and hours beyond the standard workday as needed</li><li>Reliable transportation</li></ul><p><u>Responsibilities:</u></p><ul><li>Display a strong work ethic and ability to interact with clients and other firm employees</li><li>Stay informed of current developments relevant to the government and non-profit industries</li><li>Communicate to the audit team leader the audit status and issues encountered while performing assigned tasks</li><li>Identify potential risks and bring them to the attention of the Senior Auditor, Audit Supervisor, or Audit Manager</li><li>Contribute ideas/opinions to the engagement and listen/respond to other team members' views</li><li>Work independently without the daily supervision of the Senior Auditor, Audit Supervisor, or Audit Manager</li><li>Accept assignments by audit area(s) and complete assignments in a timely manner</li><li>Examine procedures used in the past and attempt to enhance audit techniques</li><li>Understand and prepare basic financial statements</li><li>Recognize a need for increased amount of overtime to complete assigned tasks and assist audit team in completing engagements</li><li>Actively work towards passing the CPA exam</li></ul><p><u>About our Firm:</u></p><p><br></p><p><em>Maher Duessel is a leading regional CPA firm that was founded to provide high-caliber audit, tax, and consulting services to clients in the governmental and non-profit sectors.
