    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>We are seeking an <strong>Engineer Intern (EI)</strong> with <strong>2-5 years</strong> of professional experience to be part of our <strong>Transportation</strong> Roadway Division in our <strong>Raleigh, NC </strong><strong>office</strong>.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>In this position, you will assist in the development of transportation design projects for clients such as state, county and municipal transportation agencies. The candidate will work in a fast-paced engineering environment where projects may be derived from a number of delivery methods including conventional Bid-Build and Design-Build projects. Over the last two decades, WGI has delivered a variety of transportation projects in the state of North Carolina. As one of the nation’s top consulting firms, we consistently strive to promote efficiency, cultivate a culture our associates can proudly embrace, and empower our associates to advance their career growth at WGI, and beyond. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>WGI offers a complete Benefits package including: Medical, Dental, Vision, LTD & STD, Life Insurance, 401k with match, PTO, Holidays, HSA with company contribution, Pet insurance, </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>#LI-onsite</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Develop engineering designs including geometric alignments, profiles, and cross sections for Roadway Design projects.</li>\n <li>Generate construction plans using Bentley OpenRoads</li>\n <li>Perform construction quantity estimates</li>\n <li>Cross-train in other transportation disciplines, including drainage, signing and pavement marking, and maintenance of traffic</li>\n <li>Develop plans, calculations and specifications among multi-discipline engineering teams</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college</li>\n <li>Passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam – EI registration a strong plus</li>\n <li>Experience with Microstation/Bentley OpenRoads</li>\n <li>Familiarity with NCDOT plans preparation criteria and design standards a plus</li>\n <li>Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and work on large multi-discipline engineering teams</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
