    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Title: </span>Locum Physician, Greater Napanee Health Home</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Reports to:</span> Director, Regional Services &amp; Partnerships</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position type: </span>Part-time and full-time contract positions available</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Salary:</span> $540/block or $135/hour</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Location:</span> Napanee, ON</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Summary</span></span></p>\n<p>Working as a leader within a multi-disciplinary team, the physician delivers high quality comprehensive primary care in collaboration with the other members of the care team and promotes healthy lifestyle choices for clients. The Physician, in partnership with other team members and collaborators, seeks to provide culturally appropriate care to all clients as part of their commitment to providing safe, person-centered care.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities</span></span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Client Care</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provides primary health care to clients, using an approach that is client-centred and acknowledges the social determinants of health</li>\n<li>Provides care in a non-judgemental, harm-reduction-oriented manner.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Communicates in a manner that can be understood by the client and their families and other members of the care team.</li>\n<li>Shares on call duties with team of providers as applicable by ministry and group guidelines.</li>\n<li>Acts as health advocate and makes effective use of health care resources (e.g. consultants, hospital facilities, e-referral and e-consult etc.) to benefit clients.</li>\n<li>As a member of multi-disciplinary team, participates in case consultations, shared care with allied health professionals and specialists, and other forms of team-based collaborative care.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Administration</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Submits billing information (including third party) to be tracked by the administrative team</li>\n<li>Contributes to developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating medical protocols and directives.</li>\n<li>Employs a quality improvement approach to population health efforts and client care interventions.</li>\n<li>Participates in team meetings, fostering a positive team environment to support effective communication and shared care.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintains accurate records of client visits and encounters, including phone encounters, using GNHH’s charting and recording formats.</li>\n<li>Supervises medical students and residents.</li>\n<li>Assists in health services planning and programming by participating on committees, supporting programs, and sharing information about identified health needs within the community as obtained through client encounters.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Organizational Responsibilities</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complies with all relevant legislation and KCHC policies, including privacy laws.</li>\n<li>Commits to acquiring an understanding of the importance of trauma responsiveness and the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).</li>\n<li>Commits to demonstrating an ongoing commitment to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Indigenization and Accessibility (EDIIA)</li>\n<li>Promotes awareness of and participation in KCHC activities.</li>\n<li>Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and quality improvement.</li>\n<li>On occasion, perform other temporary duties as required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Basic Education and Experience Requirements</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Certification in Family Medicine by the College of Family Physicians (CCFP).</li>\n<li>Registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario is in good standing.</li>\n<li>Experience with Quality Improvement (asset).</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent oral and written communication skills (French language is an asset).</li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis and ability to meet the physical demands of the position.</li>\n<li>Excellent organizational skills and above average attention to detail.</li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to engage marginalized clients, and a commitment to being a team player.</li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to work respectfully with Indigenous communities.</li>\n<li>Proficiency in the use of computers and relevant software applications (Microsoft Office), including Electronic Medical Record software (PS Suite preferred).</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Other Requirements</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>CMPA (or equivalent) malpractice insurance.</li>\n<li>Current and satisfactory Criminal and Vulnerable Persons Check.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">As a registered professional, to abide by and be accountable to the ethics and standards set out by the relevant regulatory body of the profession.</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">All KCHC staff have a duty to understand and follow KCHC policies, uphold high ethical and professional standards, and maintain confidentiality and privacy, using tact and good judgment in all dealings with other staff and clients.</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">KCHC is an <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">equal opportunity employer</span>, respecting and embracing the needs and diversity of our employees.
