Description
Partners for Rural Impact’s (PRI) ultimate goal is for an America where all kids are successful, regardless of zip code, income, background, or ability . At PRI, our focus is on ensuring that all children in rural places achieve success. Partners for Rural Impact was born out of our place-based partnership in Appalachia, where we’ve worked for 25 years to create student opportunity and success.
Position Summary
The Student Support Coordinator is a full-time role that will work closely with the school, the school district, and other grant staff to create a welcoming and safe school climate for students, staff, and families, with a focus on improving attendance outcomes. The Coordinator will collect and report data and design services/strategies related to the West Sabine Independent School District improvement plan. This position reports to the Director of Collaborative Improvement. The position leads and operates with the goal that All Rural Students Succeed .
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfy each primary duty. The requirements of the position are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required , with regular and predictable attendance essential. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Implement strategies to reduce chronic absenteeism
Coordinate support for students with academic and attendance needs
Track and use data to drive improvement efforts
Facilitate collaboration among school staff, families, and partners
Deliver targeted, student-specific interventions
Build and maintain community partnerships
Serve as liaison between school and community initiatives
Support a coordinated, community-based approach to student success
Monitor progress toward goals and report outcomes
Participate in regional and cross-sector improvement efforts
Continually assessing the needs of students, families, and the school
Maintain a professional relationship with students, families, and teachers, always operating in an ethical manner
Other roles/duties assigned to assist PRI in support of the organizational mission, All Rural Students Succeed
Position Location & Schedule
The position will be based at the West Sabine Elementary School in Pineland, TX, with local, state, and sometimes national travel required .
Normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with in-office expectations and the possibility of remote work during periods when the school may be closed. Because of the nature of responsibility to schools, partners, funders, and the service region, individual offices or departments may have operating hours that extend beyond this period and may include evening and/or weekend hours.
Minimum Qualifications
Education required to ensure success in this position:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of experience, training, and education
Experience required to ensure success in this position:
A minimum of two years’ of relevant experience
Special skills , knowledge and abilities:
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with a variety of stakeholders
Ability to coordinate a multi-faceted program
License, certification, or registration necessary:
Access to reliable transportation
Ability to successfully complete pre-employment background check
Physical requirements:
Ability to work inside a school
Ability to accurately communicate and exchange information with partners, stakeholders, and/or meeting participants
Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
Ability to travel independently by car and plane regionally and nationally
Ability to operate standard office equipment
Ability to operate a motor vehicle
Environmental conditions:
Work in a fast-paced setting with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities
