    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>Reporter PT</strong></p><p><strong>Location:&nbsp; Aitkin MN</strong></p><p>This position will report on a wide variety of stories and newsworthy events in the community. The ideal candidate will be versatile, self-motivated and will exhibit a passion for high-quality journalism.</p><p><strong>Essential Responsibilities:</strong></p><ol><li>Receives assignment or evaluates news leads and news tips to develop story idea.</li><li>Assists with print page layout using InDesign, and online posting.</li></ol><ol start=\"3\"><li>Gathers and verifies factual information regarding story through interview, observation and research.</li><li>Investigates breaking news developments.</li><li>Organizes material, determines slant or emphasis, and writes story according to prescribed editorial style and format standards.</li><li>Discuss issues with editors in order to establish priorities and positions.</li><li>Research and analyze background information related to stories in order to be able to provide complete and accurate information.</li><li>Review copy and correct errors in content, grammar, and punctuation.</li><li>Assists with special section stories and layout.</li></ol><p><strong>Authority and Relationships:</strong></p><p>Regularly communicates with people outside the organization, representing Adams Multi Media to customers, the public, government and other external sources. This position requires a high level of integrity and tact as a representative of Adams Publishing Group.</p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><p>Education &amp; Experience</p><ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Journalism, Communications, English or related field.</li><li>Minimum 2 years of experience as a reporter; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li></ul><p><strong>Skills &amp; Abilities</strong></p><ul><li>Communicates effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience. Knowledge of Associated Press style.</li><li>Actively&nbsp;listens, giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate.</li><li>Ability to work independently as well as a collaborative team member.</li><li>Ability to organize, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure.</li><li>Strong understanding of multimedia technology.</li><li>Must meet Adams Publishing Group driver qualifications.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;<strong>Schedule:&nbsp;</strong></p><p>Non-exempt, full-time</p><p><strong>Benefits:</strong></p><p>Competitive medical, dental and vision insurance; company-paid disability and term life insurance; a generous PTO policy with PTO accrual beginning on the first day of employment; company-paid holidays; and a 401(k) plan with discretionary matching.
