Job purpose
Ride Leads are responsible for monitoring our ride operators and the operation of our ride attractions. Ride Leads also train all of our ride staff in the operation of attractions. If you are looking for your first supervisor job or just enjoy supervising people, this is a great position for you.
Duties and responsibilities
Train and audit staff
Train on ride attractions in the following areas:
Ride operation.
Pre-operation safety checks.
Load/Unload.
Rider Screening.
Pre-dispatch safety checks.
Emergency Procedures.
Closing Procedures.
Assist with ride operator orientation to include professionalism, rider engagement, rider screening procedures, load/unload procedures, restraint device securing, communication, safety zones, pre-dispatch safety checks, preparedness.
Perform frequent audits of ride operators.
Monitor operation of attractions and team members within their specified area of responsibility
Leads are assigned to a specific team, responsible for a set of attractions and group of team members.
Assist with ride department operation duties based on area of responsibility.
Provides ride operator code 10’s (bathroom breaks).
Monitors break and lunch rotations, verifying that all ride operators have received their required breaks and lunches.
Understand and enforce all safety policies and emergency procedures of ride and park operations.
Facilitates the opening and closing of the park including, but not limited to:
Prepping ride attractions.
Park Music.
Park and Ride Lighting.
General park appearance.
Closes a set of rides at the end of the day and checks out ride operator at attraction.
Completes and collects all necessary paperwork
Complete all opening checklists.
Collects ride pre-operation checklists.
Complete training documentation.
Completes performance documentation as necessary.
Follow all policies and procedures of ride operation department
Close attractions during weather, other safety shutdowns, and at park closing time.
Communicate with management and/or maintenance using a portable radio as necessary.
Provide and maintain a safe, fun, and clean guest friendly atmosphere.
Engage guests.
Clean attractions, immediate surrounding areas, and parkways as necessary.
Notify Unit 1 when a more advanced cleaning is necessary.
Be attentive to guests needs.
Be able to assist guests or find someone that can.
Comply with all policies and procedures of Funtown Splashtown USA
Follow all policies and procedures of the Department.
Maintain professional appearance following all uniform guidelines.
Attend all required department, interdepartmental, and park trainings.
You may be assigned to other duties as necessary.

Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years old.
Minimum of 1 year ride operation experience is preferred.
Able to supervise team members of all ages.
Adapts to and implements change.
Promotes core values of park.
Possesses team and people building skills.
Demonstrates the understanding of good leadership qualities.
A successful applicant will have strong communication skills and a friendly, positive attitude who is able to work alone and as part of a team.
Working conditions
While we do our best to provide shaded areas for our employees to be in, it is impossible to guarantee this at all times of the day. You may be in direct/indirect sunlight for long periods of time. We operate in most summer weather conditions and since you are outside, and Maine weather is unpredictable, we ask that you dress appropriately and are prepared for light to heavy rain, changes in temperature, and humidity.
We also suggest that you always come prepared with snacks, meals, and a water bottle full of water (we will refill water as much as needed for you).
Select tasks may require leads to work with gas, oil, or chlorine or to work at an elevated height.
Physical requirements
Applicant should be able to sit or stand for long periods of time, while occasionally walking short distances.
Applicant should not have a fear of heights to work at select attractions.
Select rides require the ability to lift up to 30 lbs or 50 lbs.
