All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.</p>\n<h2>Primary Purpose</h2>\n<p>The Facilities and Grounds Sr. Technician is responsible for, under general direction of the Manager of Facilities and Grounds, the planning, coordination, and overseeing the operation of RVU Utah facilities, including custodial and grounds, HVAC system monitoring, and the safety and coordination of campus usage. This position provides back up and support to the Manager of Facilities and Grounds, and all Technicians in the department. The Sr. Technician position will provide necessary training to the Technician position. This position reports to the Manager of Facilities and Grounds.</p>\n<h2>Essential Job Functions</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Assist in or coordinate the planning and decision-making for maintaining the safety, utility and appearance of RVU Utah.</li>\n <li>Performs preventive maintenance on.building systems, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and control systems and-related components.</li>\n <li>Assist in creating a schedule of regular evaluations of the-facility, and regular maintenance.</li>\n <li>Oversees and makes recommendations for improvements and modifications associated with the custodial contract and staff.</li>\n <li>Monitor and maintain HVAC and Lighting Management Systems, including scheduling of their use, with assistance from the Facilities and Grounds Technician.</li>\n <li>Assists the Manager and all technicians in developing and maintaining a plan for 24-7 coverage relating to building usage, custodial, grounds, maintenance, safety and emergencies.</li>\n <li>Ensure operation, and upkeep to vehicles and equipment owned by RVU.</li>\n <li>Assist all technicians in the usage of facilities by RVU Utah personnel/groups and organizations within the university: set-ups, take-downs, and clean-up.</li>\n <li>Identifies repair and maintenance projects requinng the assistance of contractors or vendors while participating in the estimates and evaluations of project costs, monitors work ofvendors or contractors to assure compliance-of with facility maintenance standards.</li>\n <li>Monitors inventory, orders supplies, maintains records and logs of daily activity.</li>\n <li>Maintain a broad working knowledge of materials, systems and code requirements related to RVU facilities.</li>\n <li>Provide training of Facilities and Grounds staff during weekly planning meetings.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Marginal Job Functions</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Assist administration, faculty and staff in special projects as needed under the direction of the Manager.</li>\n <li>Continue education programs through HVAC and electrical vendors, keeping RVU Utah up to code standards related to electrical needs.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Good organizational skills – ability to come up with processes and follow up.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated commitment to valuing equity, diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.</li>\n <li>Excellent communication skills</li>\n <li>Demonstrate knowledge of computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.</li>\n <li>Demonstrate professional demeanor.</li>\n <li>Ability to work with confidential material with discretion and a high level of attention to detail.</li>\n <li>Ability to multi-task and problem solve.</li>\n <li>Must be able to work effectively in a team-based diverse environment.</li>\n <li>Demonstrate effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of drywall repair and painting.</li>\n <li>Ability to perform repetitive motion and lift up to 70 lbs.</li>\n <li>Ability to ascend and descend ladders of various heights.</li>\n <li>Understanding of SHARPs and Biohazard material disposal procedures.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Minimum Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma</li>\n <li>Three years of progressively responsible experience in supervision of maintenance and operations and/or facilities.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>some college</li>\n <li>Some knowledge of Trane HVAC systems</li>\n <li>Knowledge of Net2/Paxton controls or similar system</li>\n <li>1-3 years Electrical/electronic experience</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Final applicant will be required to pass background check and drug screening.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Qualified applicants will be contacted.
