    "description": "<p>The University of Pikeville Tanner College of Dental Medicine (TCDM) invites applications for a part-time, grant-funded Project Director to support a pediatric dental public health initiative focused on improving access to care in Central Appalachia through community-based data collection and teledentistry engagement. This position is funded through 2026. </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate and conduct community-based data collection activities, including facilitating focus groups and administering surveys to individuals within designated population groups.</li>\n<li>Engage parents, caregivers, and community members in a culturally responsive and respectful manner.</li>\n<li>Serve as a liaison between the Tanner College of Dental Medicine and community partners, including schools, churches, and community organizations.</li>\n<li>Maintain accurate documentation of project activities and provide routine updates to supervising faculty.</li>\n<li>Support implementation of project activities in alignment with grant objectives and timelines.</li>\n<li>Complete other activities as directed to support the grant objectives.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Education</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>A high school diploma or GED is required for the position. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Licensure/Certification</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Certification as a Community Health Worker (CHW) in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Required Qualifications</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Five (5) or more years of experience working as a dental assistant.</li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to engage patients and families in community or clinical settings.</li>\n<li>Familiarity with Central Appalachia and Eastern Kentucky, including local communities and barriers to care.</li>\n<li>Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.</li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and travel locally within the region as needed.</li>\n<li>Experience with community outreach, patient navigation, or public health initiatives.</li>\n<li>Position may involve a combination of on-campus, community-based, and remote work.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Important Notes:</span><em> <span>Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
