    "description": "<h2>The Opportunity</h2>\n<p><strong>RS&H is seeking a Bridge Engineer to join our team in Charlotte, NC.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary:</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position performs all conventional aspects of engineering design and development, including the planning and conducting of work requiring more advanced techniques. This role independently performs a variety of assignments requiring skills in all conventional aspects of engineering designs for projects of moderate size and complexity. This position requires independent judgment in evaluation, selection, and adaptation/ modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria, and must be able to independently solve problems and make decisions, receiving technical guidance on unusual or complex issues and supervisory approval on proposed project plans.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Essential Functions:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Development of bridge (steel and concrete) and culvert design deliverables such as Structure Plans/Calculations/Specifications.</li>\n <li>Completes bridge/structural calculations, special provisions, and plans.</li>\n <li>Assist project managers with proposal preparation and cost estimates for bridge related components.</li>\n <li>Proficiency in AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design specifications.</li>\n <li>Prepares project specifications, compiles, and analyzes relevant data, and prepares complete project documents, analysis, and reports.</li>\n <li>Analyzes and interprets data. Performs analyses of design, planning, and impact studies, as well as cost analyses, design requirements, site selection, and limited design layouts.</li>\n <li>Designs a complete project, system, component, or process and prepares project documents, engineering analysis, and reports.</li>\n <li>Performs quality control reviews and ensures achievement of key milestones.</li>\n <li>Formulates and solves problems with timely and innovative solutions.</li>\n <li>Maintains professional registration and licensure by ensuring conformance with professional, ethical, educational, and discipline practice requirements. Remains knowledgeable of all applicable federal, state, and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances that are pertinent to respective discipline.</li>\n <li>Performs all other duties as assigned and within scope of practice.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Requires a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent experience.</li>\n <li>Minimum of 5 years relevant experience.</li>\n <li>PE License in the State of North Carolina is required, or ability to obtain.</li>\n <li>Proficient in production software and construction document production.</li>\n <li>Must possess strong oral and written communications skills.</li>\n <li>Must have the ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, and other key stakeholders.</li>\n <li>Thorough knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Design Standards, NCDOT Bridge Design Manual.</li>\n <li>Proficiency with Microstation is required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>NCDOT design experience includes full bridge/culvert replacements, bridge rehabilitations, and bridge widening projects.</li>\n <li>Experience in bridge design for phased construction projects.</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of Bentley OpenBridge Designer and Modeler.</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of SCDOT Bridge Design Manual.</li>\n <li>Experience in shop drawing review and construction consultation.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>If this sounds like the role for you and you're ready to join an amazing team, please apply.</p>\n<p><strong><em>An Equal Opportunity Employer.
