As an Elementary School Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic and personal development of our students.</p><p><br></p><p><u><strong>About the School</strong></u>&nbsp;</p><p>Established in 1948 in Mamaroneck, NY, Westchester Day School, a Modern Orthodox, co-educational, dual curriculum Jewish elementary school (2-year-olds through 8th grade), prepares students to live as mensches and lifelong learners and inspires them to impact the world around them by cultivating a commitment to Torah, midot, community and academic rigor.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p><u><strong>Responsibilities include</strong></u><strong>:</strong></p><ul><li>Develop and follow a daily routine that incorporates good elementary school practices.</li><li>Provide appropriate supervision for all children at all times.</li><li>Understand and incorporate positive behavior techniques and restorative practices while developing and maintaining classroom activities.</li><li>Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children.</li><li>Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and parents.</li><li>Implement early childhood curriculum and create novel project plans.</li><li>Employ a variety of educational techniques to teach children.</li><li>Observe each child to help them improve their social-emotional growth while providing a stimulating and cognitively engaging classroom environment.</li><li>Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through enriching learning experiences.</li><li>Track children’s progress, monitor their development and report to parents on a regular basis.</li><li>Collaborate with other educators.</li><li>Plan and submit weekly lesson plans in accordance with curriculum objectives and developmentally appropriate practice.</li><li>Stay current with best practices and trends in education.
