    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><span><strong>Objective of Position:</strong>&nbsp;</span><span>Prepares and finishes metal surfaces of trailers in preparation for painting process.</span></p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><span><strong>Principal Responsibilities:</strong></span></p>\n<ol>\n <li><span>Follows surface preparation specifications on trailers and accessories.</span></li>\n <li><span>Follows supervisor/assistant supervisor’s instructions.</span></li>\n <li><span>Uses blasting equipment to remove rust, carbon, mill scale and weld spatter.&nbsp; May be required to use buffers and chippers etc. to clean hard to reach areas.</span></li>\n <li><span>Handles and utilizes all material used in the blast areas in a safe manner.</span></li>\n <li><span>Applies primer and topcoat to trailers</span></li>\n <li><span>Repairs paint on trailers</span></li>\n <li><span>Operates overhead crane in a safe manner.</span></li>\n <li><span>Is familiar with all equipment used and is responsible for routine maintenance and upkeep.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Advises supervisor of any problems with sandblasting equipment or trailers.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Monitors supplies needed in area and updates supervisor as necessary.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Carefully prepares trailers for blasting or painting, by masking off key components on the trailer that are not blasted or painted.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Handles, stores and disposes of all hazardous materials properly. Successfully completes annual training.</span></li>\n <li><span>Follow standard work and procedures.</span></li>\n <li><span>Must adhere to all safety standard set by the company.</span></li>\n <li><span>Performs axle alignments and adjusts brakes as directed.</span></li>\n <li><span>Perform other duties as assigned.</span></li>\n</ol>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><span><strong>Position Qualifications:</strong></span><span>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential&nbsp; functions of the position.</span></p>\n<ol>\n <li><span>Possess basic computer skills.</span></li>\n <li><span>Possess the ability to accurately read a measuring tape.&nbsp; &nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Possess the ability to read and follow instructions &nbsp; &nbsp;</span></li>\n</ol>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><span><strong>Physical Demands &amp; Work Environment:</strong></span></p>\n<ol>\n <li><span>Ability to work up to a 12 hour shift.</span></li>\n <li><span>Able to wear personal protective equipment while performing job functions.</span></li>\n <li><span>Must be willing to fluctuate hours to accommodate needs</span></li>\n <li><span>While performing duties of job, employee is required to: stand, kneel, walk, sit, climb, bend, and twist; use hands to finger, handle and feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.</span></li>\n <li><span>Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.</span></li>\n <li><span>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to changes in temperature and humidity, exposure to dust, fumes and is near moving machinery.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Successfully perform a Pulmonary Function Test and be able to utilize a respirator while operating&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; blasting equipment.</span></li>\n <li><span>Upon initial assignment to an area where hazardous waste will be handled, training of management of hazardous waste must be conducted within six months of start date</span></li>\n <li><span>Annual training is required for management of hazardous waste including a review of the company contingency plan</span></li>\n</ol>",
