Organizational Overview:
World Hope International (WHI) is a global Christian relief and development organization working in hard places to bring opportunity, dignity, and hope. For nearly 30 years, WHI has partnered with communities around the world to provide access to clean water and energy, strengthen health systems, protect vulnerable children and families, and empower sustainable economic development.
Position Summary:
The role of the House Parent will include working in shifts (sometimes days; sometimes nights), to care for child and adult survivors of human trafficking and Gender-Based Violence in the Recovery Centre. The House Parent will work with a team of counselors, social workers, cook and cleaners to provide holistic care. House Parents help children get ready for the day, provide care and direction, supervise for safety, and lead and participate in recreational and educational activities. They will do this with a kind, compassionate, confidential, supportive, and professional approach. The Houseparent serves as a positive role model, mentor, and primary caregiver, fostering the social, emotional, and behavioral development of survivors.
Major Responsibilities:
Providing nurture and care to children and adults who have suffered.
To help survivors of abuse recover by providing a safe and predictable.
To rotate with other staff to workday or night shifts, providing care and supervision of survivors.
Manage and address behavioral challenges in a calm, consistent, and therapeutic manner.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including daily logs, incident reports, and daily reports.
Liaising closely with the Anti-Trafficking and GBV team of World Hope International.
Taking notes and a record of activities and the survivors' well-being.
Qualification and Experience
A High school certificate
Relevant experience in caring for children and/or vulnerable adults.
Experience working with a protection agency and knowledge of protection issue is required.
Must have a willingness to closely follow and help to train on the Child Protection Policy.
The ability to read and write is required
