Are you someone who can administer medications to children as prescribed by the physician in accordance with established medication administration procedures?</p>\n\n<p>If yes, Lakemary is looking for a Medication Technician PRN for our Children&#39;s Nursing Department. In this role you will work as a medication aide who has successfully completed a training program approved by Lakemary Center and has an acceptable score on the written and clinical examinations or possess a current Kansas Certified Medication Aide certificate. This role functions under general supervision of a Med Tech Lead and/or Nurse Practitioner.</p>\n\n<p><strong>Med Tech PRN Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Observes records &amp; reports to the registered nurse on duty symptoms and conditions of children that could be related to medication interactions, adverse drug reactions or medication side effects.</li>\n\t<li>Determines &amp; records medication effectiveness in a timely &amp; accurate manner as required by state and federal regulations.</li>\n\t<li>Store medications in a safe and accurate manner in accordance with state &amp; federal regulations.</li>\n\t<li>Routinely inspects, cleans &amp; monitors equipment and supplies to ensure child safety</li>\n\t<li>Manage and/or provide direction to individuals served during crisis situations.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><strong>An ideal candidate for this position has: </strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Demonstrate awareness of proper infection control practices.</li>\n\t<li>Ability to:\n\t<ul>\n\t\t<li>Weigh possible outcome and consults with others when needed.</li>\n\t\t<li>Maintain strong relationships, while building rapport with individuals served.</li>\n\t\t<li>Maintain appropriate records.</li>\n\t\t<li>Communicate accurate and factual information clearly to children and staff.</li>\n\t\t<li>Seek clarification from or refer questions to the registered nurse.</li>\n\t</ul>\n\t</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><strong>Med Tech PRN Qualifications:</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>High School Diploma/GED or equivalent</li>\n\t<li>Be at least 18+ years of age</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><strong>Other Job Details:</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>PRN - days and hours vary</li>\n\t<li>Starting pay: $ 16.50/hour</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><strong>Lakemary provides competitive compensation and benefit package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans; paid time off; and a 401(k)-retirement plan</strong></p>\n\n<p><strong>Certifications: </strong></p>\n\n<p>Lakemary provides training in program specific coursework.</p>\n\n<p><strong>Special Considerations:</strong></p>\n\n<p>Some environments/shifts require same sex staff due to regulatory requirements.</p>\n\n<p><strong>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or veteran status.
